Great knife

I am very happy with the MAC 8" chef's knife. It is exactly as described - balanced, incredibly sharp, and not overly flashy. Cutlery & More delivered it quickly and it arrived in perfect condition. I could not be happier.

Arrived extremely dull

This knife got great reviews from multiple cooking websites. It seems to be well-made, but arrived very dull. Having to have it sharpened right out of the gate is disappointing for a knife I spent so much money.

This mac is next level

I needed a new all around workhorse knife cause my older one just wasnt keeping its edge anymore, and i didnt want to have to pay hundreds of dollars for a decent knife. this mac is so sharp and the weight of it in your hand is nice and balanced, which keeps it comfortable for long periods of use. I am cautious against letting my coworkers use it though because i know they wont take care of it like i do (ie i dont open cans with my knives like they do). I am very happy with this purchase

A fantastic lightweight razor

The Mac Professional Chefs Knife is a great tool. Sharp out of the box and light weight, making it great for repetitive tasks. It goes through meat and vegetables like a hot blade through butter.

Great knife

Love it so far! Heard about how light it was and was concerned about it being too light. One of the reasons I don't like global is for them being too light for simple chopping. But I did a little simple chopping to test how I felt about it, thought it was great! Been having fun with it.

Great knife

Although I have bought two of these for my kids based on reviews, etc., I never saw the need to replace my Shun Classic knife until the MAC super sale price showed up for Independence Day. I figured I would try it out and replace another knife, shifting it to our vacation house kitchen (not the Shun of course).

I like to keep my knives sharp and sharpen them by hand. This knife is amazingly sharp out of the box and if it keeps it’s edge longer, due to the harder steel, then the time saved will be well worth it.

Unbelievably lightweight and razor sharp. This is my first Mac and I’ve only used German knives my whole life. This knife is definitely a great addition to my arsenal.

Best knife out there!!

I bought this knife about 5 years ago. Fell in love with it right away. It balances great, super handy. Compared it to many other brands of knives, both Japanese and German steel. After professionally working in kitchens for many years I recently took on a new challenge. I sold most of my knives including this MAC.. only to soon realize I missed it very much so I purchased it again for cooking at home. It’s like an extension to my arm.. love it!!

Lovely balance

Have used for 3 weeks now, love the razor edge and great balance. Handle is on the small side and gets slippy when dicing lots of washed vegetables. Will get the 10.25" slicer if it ever goes on sale.

Sharp but food sticks

I bought this knife a few weeks ago and as a vegetarian I cut up vegetables every day. The plus is the light weight of the knife, its sharp blade and balance. The downside is that all my vegetables stick to the blade until I push them off. I am afraid that I'm going to cut myself pushing veggies off the blade. Also there was an offer to have the blade engraved but the offer expired 12/31/22, which was the week after I received the knife and I didn't want to risk mailing it during the holidays. It's a great offer if I could have used it.

Amazing knife

Bought this knife a few weeks and I couldn't be happier. I've owned many Japanese knives over the years, but I can honestly say that this knife has become my go to at work. It's very light and razor sharp. The hollow edge makes a difference when slicing through fruits and vegetables, it slices through like butter. Overall I love the knife and I would highly recommend it

BEWARE OF THE SELLER

This knife came wrapped in plastic and covered in oil. No box for the knife or sheath like my other Mac knives that I’ve bought. I love Mac knives but this seller is definitely selling used and resharpened knives that are several years old. The knife itself is way heavier than even my 10in Mac knife in the same series. Buyer be ware. The cost is the same as a brand new one you can order directly from the Mac website. This was a major disappointment

Great knife, beautifully designed.

This knife has exceeded my expectations. Its weight is perfect. Working with it is a delight. The factory sharpening is outstanding. Didn't even need a touch-up. It's still razor sharp.

In this covid-19 context, I’ll be able to shave with it if I run out of razors. Frankly, I would have liked it to have a bit more curve (more like a Western knife’s shape) to use more rocking technique, but that is not a surprise, so I didn’t take away a star. Just something to think about. Very easy to sharpen. I use it every night and just hone it a couple of times a week and it’s wonderfully sharp and comfortable to use.

Awesome Knife

I’m not a professional knife expert just a guy who loves cooking and quality equipment. The Mac Professional has exceeded my expectations. At last preparing foods now is a little easier or less bothersome w low quality knives. Only wish I could purchase a complete MAC Professional knife set.
