Backing fits between sliding glass doors

This backing is slim and 24" long bar. Really the only reason I got it. Other bar's backings were too thick from other reviews. I was somewhat obligated to go with this model. Other pros: It is a single cast bar. It is seemingly sturdy. A good gauge of a bar. A few reasons it doesn't get a 5 star review: The bar is somewhat simplistic in design for nearly $70. The instructions are almost too simple, not sure why I needed a L tool. There is no protection on the backing side from the metal on glass. I used the silicon stoppers as protection on the bar side of the fitting which is felt odd as I was screwing it on. It seems like over time it will need tightening periodically since it basically should only be hand tightened.
