Disappointed

I was very disappointed in this product. After only a few uses, the wood looked visibly tarnished and worse than my older home wood boards. It is not good for daily use and is very heavy. It easily stains and is also hard to clean/maintain. I purchased the lotion that was recommended for this product as well. I do not recommend this product and would not purchase again. It is not worth the price.

Excellent quality but very expensive. Postage, and cost for product.

This is an exceptional product. High-quality and extremely durable. Its extremely expensive and the postage was truly expensive. The piece is extra large and doesnt fit on a counter so to use it, I had to get a cart made so that it would fit on top and I use it as a butcher block now.

Shipped fast but came dented

This arrived a lot faster than I anticipated. We opened it and put it on the counter last night and cut tomatoes on it. It hasn’t been moved or touched since (it’s ~10 lbs so it won’t be moved much) but today I was putting away groceries and noticed one of the edges is dented. Because it’s technically ineligible for returns, there’s no way to initiate a complaint other than by calling. I’m not sure if this dent warrants a return but that’s where an expanded online return workflow would help. That said, it’s a well-made, high quality cutting board that will hopefully last a long time.

Block is splitting at the seams

I purchased the medium size of this maple cutting board one year ago. I started using it recently and only a dozen or so times. Unfortunately it is starting to come apart at the seams. I have had these types of cutting boards before and never had an issue. I am not sure why this is happening, but it’s definitely unexpected and disappointing for the cost.

Really disappointed in the grain

Straight out of the box, I'm really disappointed in the coloration of the block we received. I can't speak to the quality of the block itself yet because I might return this. Of course I understand that with a natural material, each product looks different and has variations from the product photos, but this really looks nothing like the product images. The maple leans strongly red and has quite dark streaks running through the grain. It looks terrible sitting on our wood countertop. I'm on the fence about returning this because Williams-Sonoma's return policy takes forever to process and it might not even be worth it. I've been trying to use up a gift card I received and so far I've wasted a lot of it away on shipping from WS and had to cancel orders because of extremely delayed ship dates (like 9+ months delayed). Once I finally get rid of this gift card balance I won't be shopping at WS again.

Solid, and a Lifetime Cutting Board

This board is a beast, heavy and sturdy. It's a little bigger than what I needed but was able to get it at a great price so I went for it. It weights over 20 lbs. and handling it is a bit of a chore when it come to cleaning and treating it. But overall, it could be a lifetime board if taken care of. It came well packaged from the factory and that's a good thing because FedEx beat the hell out of the box with dents, holes, and dirt all over it. But the block inside was fine thanks to great packaging design from the manufacturer. I just ordered the Boos oil and cream to condition it. Looking forward to the first use of it after I sharpen all my knives.
