These lights are just what we needed. They hang over our kitchen island and the bulb is recessed enough that the light does not shine in your eyes when sitting at the island. We added a dimmer switch that allows us to keep the lights on when you are not using the kitchen but adds just enough light to find your way in for a snack or beverage. We would recommend this light (we bought two).
