Not sure about this!!! After installation in our new bathroom remodel it worked for 3 weeks and now it turns on but the water won't come out of the designated shower head. It is saying the water is 113 degrees. It is located in our crawl space and I'm not thrilled about going down there to do a hard reset to see if that fixes the problem.

Nice to have a controller for the shower.

This controller keeps resetting, shutting off. I've had to replace the plug for it several times. The battery back up does not work for very long when the plug keeps going out. Luckily I found cheaper plugs on Digi key but had to change out the cord. It's been a headache since I got it but I can't really change anything now.

Think twice about all electronic controls for plumbing

Not a huge fan of this purchase. The control pad keeps shutting down so I have to keep unplugging and plugging it back in to get it back on. Sometimes that doesn’t even resolve the issue and I have to unplug the plumbing unit and plug that back in to reset the system, which isn’t ideal and doesn’t seem like I should have to constantly keep doing this. After experiencing this issue, I quickly became regretful in going with an electronic control for my shower because there is no way to manually turn my shower on if or when power goes out or I continue to have issues with the control panel. Avoid- stopped working after 2 years

Just not working very well. Most likely a software issue. Really frustrating. The shower wasn’t working via software and the manual buttons didn’t work.

Doesn’t work 30% of the time

At least 2x month the unit appears to have power but pressing the buttons does not yield water. Requires a power shutdown and restart - not ideal at 6 am when I have a train to catch! I would replace this entire thing if it wasn’t going to cost me such a fortune to have the tile ripped out.

Randomly shuts off

I'm on my third unit, and I still have to crawl into my basement and unplug it and plug it back in every other day. I'm a Master Plumber, and I've installed this in a customer's home with the same problem, and it's very embarrassing. Horrible product, and Moens response is too just send another one. I've gone through 3 now. Total joke of a product. DO NOT BUY!

Steer clear after 2 years

Like spending your free time troubleshooting something that should just work? I dont. First pad screen died. Took 8 months to get a replacement. Nice new bathroom… with no shower. Took hours to figure out how to connect it back then. New unit was fine until my wifi router died. Now I have to reset the wifi and guess what? The app and controller dont agree. 2 hours of trying and no connection. Help guides dont even match the app which point to moens quality process having issues.

Works as Advertised

This is the second of these I have purchased and they work excellent. Love the control I have over my shower.

We have two of these in our home, and couldn't live without them! One touch, and the shower is set to the perfect temperature, with the right shower heads turned on.

WOW! This valve made our moen shower absolutely wonderful. Put in four fixtures and this runs them all! It is a great addition to any bathroom. Plumber had not problem installing the system.

Love the look and functions of this system. Only downfall is randomly it will not turn on and you have to either wait (a while) or unplug it and reset it. Otherwise it would be my favorite part of our shower.

I just had the valve and the plumbing installed and I plugged this in to ensure everything worked and pressurized the system before closing up the walls and it works great. It seems well made and looks great in-person. I can't wait until the shower is done and this is fully installed. I'll update with pictures and after I've spent more time using it.

If I’m honest- this is most of the reason for the 3 star review. - not touchscreen (not a big deal) really, I don’t see it particularly called out as NON-touchscreen would have been nice to know but I should have done more reading. - default outlet is 1. Can’t set default water outlet (1 or 2) without making a preset with app can’t access presets from wall interface can ONLY access presets with app. (made my spout 1 and overhead 2, so now I have to pause outlet 1 and turn on outlet 2 every time I turn the shower on( not an end game, but dumb)

I love being able to ask Alexa to turn my shower on and having a preset for my water temp. And if I want the temp a degree hotter or colder, its as easy as pushing a button. As others have mentioned, the controller doesn't work well with the latest version of Android, although Moen did just come out with an update, so that might be fixed now. The only other problem I have been having is when I ask Alexa to turn the shower on, the controller activates but 25% of the time, no water comes out of the valve. I contacted Moen and they said they are working on a firmware update on the valve so hopefully, that will fix the issue. I've never experienced water not coming out of the valve when using just the controller to start the shower, but I rarely do that. It's much easier to just ask Alexa to turn the shower on as I'm getting ready to get it. Update 12/23/19 As I mentioned above my controller was having issues not coming on all the time. Well, it got worse and worse until, in Aug, it finally failed and no water would ever come out. During the time I was having the issue with the controller I had been in contact with Moen, so they knew about my issue. So when I called them to tell them it died, they apologized and sent me a new controller AND value (because they weren't sure what problem was). It turned out to be the controller. Since replacing the controller we haven't had any issues whatsoever.

We were sooooo excited about this item. I really wish it came in a matte black color. It keeps freezing on us and we have to remove all of our closet shelves, the access panel (which is screwed in) to reset. The theory is great but it needs more time to work out the kinks.
