TERRIBLE coffee maker

We purchased this coffee maker about a year ago to replace a ten year old Zojirushi that was still working but looking worse all the time. BIG MISTAKE. Shortly after purchasing, but just out of the return window, it stopped grinding. We contacted store who sent us to the company who was nice enough to send a new unit. In about three months, THAT unit stopped grinding. We thought it was possibly us, so spent ages on youtube and looking through the book to clean it properly and figure out what had happened, but we made no progress toward it working. So we called the company and asked for a partial refund. They would only replace. This time we cleaned the grind hopper almost daily and were SUPER careful and around the 3 or 4 month mark it broke again. This time the person on the phone asked me questions like "what kind of beans are you grinding?" and said "your beans are probably too oily." Here's the deal. I've been making coffee and grinding beans with the same coffee maker and burr grinder for a decade and a half without any issues and then we can't make this one work for longer than three months. I do not think this is a good machine. It is not well built and most of the component pieces feel cheap. it LOOKS pretty and that is about all I can say about it. It sucks and I think the company knows it. They wont exchange, partially refund, or issue credit even to use toward another machine in their line and they do not have any directions on what might be wrong. I'm extremely annoyed to be out the expense and to have to purchase another grinder and maker without even recouping some of the cost for this coffee maker. Meanwhile, the Zojirushi Coffee maker and OXO Burr grinder we have to our friend (one of those is about 10 years old and the other is around 15) continue to work like a dream.

Terrible coffee pot, even worse customer service

My coffee maker quit working after a month. I contacted GE customer service on a Monday and sent them the information right away. It's been 5 days and I have not heard back from anyone and now I have a $275 coffee maker that I got a month of use out of.

Great cup of coffee and simple to operate love the way it grinds

Nice design

It has only been a day or two since I set up my machine, but I have been very pleased with it so far. The coffee was excellent, easy to set up, and easy to use. We have owned all of our other GE Cafe' appliances for three years now, which seem to be working fine after we got past the first initial service issues with the refrigerator.

Brews a good cup of drip coffee!

Overall, it looks great and functions very well! Features that I enjoy: built in grinder (not super loud), fill from the top water, insulated carafe.

DO NOT BUY THIS COFFEE MAKER

Do NOT buy this coffee maker. We started out very much enjoying the coffee maker because it grinds the beans, has a reservoir, and you can remotely activate it. Initially we found it slightly irritating that it was not dishwasher safe, but overall no big complaints AT FIRST.

Very well made coffee machine! This makes a great cup of coffee and I love the flexibility of being able to brew a single cup or full carafe. I just wish there were less plastic components, namely the water reservoir and coffee ground basket assembly. Would also like the carafe to be modified so water doesn’t get stuck in the lip on the inside. I almost returned it for the plastic reason. Otherwise, really awesome machine that makes delicious coffee!

Way too strong. Making too much grounds.

It grinds way too long and produces too much grounds. It ground for 24 seconds and produced 13 scoops of grounds for a 10-cup carafe on the light setting when we would normally use 5 scoops. Coffee is ridiculously strong, basically feel like I’m drinking espresso. Switching to medium and bold adds approximately 2 seconds to grind time. Gold time was about the same time as medium. All measurements were done with grind size in the middle between course and fine. Switching to course isn’t going to make a significant difference in the amount of grounds produced, it’s just way too much. Please reach out to us. Excluding the grounds problem, love everything about this coffee maker. It just makes undrinkable coffee because it grinds too long.

DO NOT BUY: Faulty design (water leaks)

DO NOT PURCHASE. Read all of the bad reviews first. Water very frequently leaks out of the bottom of the water reservoir. This is a machine that costs several hundred dollars. Way to expensive of a device to have a such a clear design fault. Read the reviews and you will see that MANY people have this exact same issue. I reached out unfortunately in month 13 and it only has a 12 month warranty and of course they will not stand by it. Do not buy this coffee maker.

Quiet grind

High quality product! The grinding process is quick and quiet. So many grind brewers wake up the whole house!

Lovely machine, with good coffee capabilities

In fairness we only have used in the last 24 hours for the first time. The coffee is amazing, nice and hot and for us the perfect brew (we have set at 3 on grinder and Gold). It looks very nice and I do love the water tank that can hold a good amount and no need to continually fill. Of course depending on how much you use and drink. I did experience the leak when we first set up, which was super easy to fix, it was due to us not having he charcoal filter in properly. I am glad I purchased. My only real complaint is that we can not find any information on how to use the single cup filter, how to put into basket, or anything about it even in the list of items in the box!

Can’t even use it yet!

I haven’t even been able to use this product yet because the cup where the water sits constantly leaks. This is baffling and very frustrating.

Leaks

I've had my coffee maker for over 13 and it leaks all over. It happened before the year warranty and was told I need to get a video of it leaking. I don't have time to stand in front of the coffee maker and take a video of it leaking. From the sounds of the other reviews, people have had the same problems. I didn't pay $330 for a disposable coffee maker or one that I had to take a day off of work so I can video the water coming out of it.

4 defective units, terrible customer service

This is my first product review ever written on Amazon, but after 4 different units failed within a year I felt compelled to warn others of this incredibly unreliable product. The first unit sprayed water all over our kitchen anytime coffee was brewed, and the subsequent 3 had various grinder failures and had to be sent back. Sadly, the coffee was actually very good when the unit worked, but not one of them lasted more than 2 months.
