Not sure exactly how it "self waters". It has a perforated rubber plate that sits atop a reservoir at the bottom of the planter where the water drains and collects. Perhaps that helps keep the soil moist. Not sure yet. At least when you water the plant the water doesn't leak out everywhere. LOVE the finish of the rubber. Looks much more expensive than it is. I would definitely purchase this over the RH zinc planters.

Material is durable and attractive.

We now have 6 of these and have them in the hot Arizona sun. They have kept their color and have held up beautifully for several years. I bought several more and they are identical to the ones that have been in the sun for a couple of years.

We have purchased several of this brand. Very pleased with durability and style. Have left them out all winter after draining. Look like brand new.

Check this before you fill it with soil and plants

Our version of this planter would not drain. Yes we took the drain plug out. I made sure there were no obstructions in the drain tube too. I think the hole at the top of the drain tube was just too small. It didn't look too small. I think it just wasn't big enough to overcome the air pressure? I am not an engineer. I drilled out the hole with a 3/16" bit and now it drains as it should. Hopefully this planter will work better for us this year.

I purchased two of these planters and couldn’t be happier! I had an issue with one of the planters which was not a dealbreaker so I contacted the company and they were wonderful. Customer service was outstanding.

Returned. Too heavy for me. Good looking product!

These are tough and awesome. I keep buying more. Planted tomatoes, peppers, onions, parsley, etc. Love them!
