I love my personal spa!

My master bathroom renovation was just completed and I love my Kohler Memoirs freestanding bath tub. I did not have any problems with the tub drain working properly and the water drains without making a loud sound. I worked with a professional bathroom remodeling company to do the installation and I am very pleased with my tub.

Gorgeous Sleek Design

I love the sleek look. The reviews regarding drain issues concerned me so I had the tub installed with a traditional twist/turn drain. No Problems! I like the wider width bottom and the length is great. Fabulous Tub for a 6' tall person!

Love My Tub - But Drain Failed

I have had my tub over a year and love it, but within this last week the drain has started leaking. Very disappointed considering what I paid for the tub that it does not hold water at all anymore. I see that you can order parts but the drain assembly is very expensive considering that you already put alot of money into this tub.

Great tub…horrible drain design

Does anyone know of a solution to stop the banging of the drain stopper when emptying the tub?the stopper banging is going to ruin the tub. Lot of money for a noise tub

Beautiful Tub but Drain needs to be improved

I have had the Memoirs Lithocast Tub for 1 year and really enjoy soaking in it. It also looks amazing in my bathroom. I don't find the drain location to be a problem and never accidentally open it - so I don't understand the comments here about that. The Drain could use some improving - sometimes it will close right after I open it to drain - and it might take another press to open it again. Yes, there is a very loud slurping sound when it drains -but this doesn't really bother me at all. I have also heard the drain knock against the tub when draining ( this does not happen frequently ) but is definitely of concern if it could crack the tub. My installers did a good job and I made them aware of the complaints about the drain and told them to make sure they read the install instructions. The installers seem to elude that some of the issues around the drain were install related as DID a Kohler rep when I called in advance before I purchased it. I would like to see Kohler re-engineer the Drain and offer an appropriate replacement that does not require multiple presses to close and does not bang. Overall, very happy with the Tub and the issue with drain is not a big deal for me as of now.

DO NOT BUY

I originally bought this tub in October of 2020. The drain leaked and the tub cracked by the drain assembly in February 2021. It was replaced under warranty in March 2021. It cracked again right by the drain assembly again Sept. 2023. This has to be a design flaw. I take a bath every night and I am very sad.

Beautiful Tub

Beautiful Tub and well made. No issues with the drain as others have indicated. I called Kohler in advance and they told me the issue typically was improper installation. I advised my installer to please read the directions. No issues and I love this TUB !

Find different kohler tub.

The drain design for this tub and any of the kohler lithocast free standing tubs with the 5 inch center drain should be avoided until Kohler finds a redesign replacement of such drain. Inadvertent bumping, slight pressure and movement around the drain cause it to leak water during soaking. Several reports online also refer to the clicker assembly coming apart. Kohler is hands down one of the best manufacturer of kitchen and bath products and everything else about these tubs surpasses expectations but this drain is unfortunately just a design flaw that has affected owners of thousands and thousands of these tubs. Kohler is a reputable company and will quickly work with you to resolve the issue but only by sending you the same drain assembly back as a replacement. It's a temporary fix but ultimately it would be best if they had the designers come up with a permanent replacement even if it is Not the compression or toe tap activated design which I would suggest they move away from for any center drain soaker tubs. Excellent for showers where your standing upright and can use your toe but the tub when you are seated or laying on the floor causes accidentaly activation of the drain. Strongly suggest kohler products, just none with this style drain.

My husband and I looked at Tubs for over a year. This tub ticked off all the boxes for what we were looking for.

The tub is beautiful and is large enough for both us to take a bath together or just for me to relax in after a hard day at work. The tub holds the heat of the water for a long period of time and I do not have to worry about adding hot water after soaking for 30 to 40 minutes. The down side is the drain. When the tub drains it makes a wobbling noise until all the water is out of tub. Also, if you happen to slide over the drain when it contains water and the drain comes open it is very hard to shut the drain off. We have had the plumber back many times to try and fix the problem but were told this was standard with this tub.

Looks great but not my favorite

We have had this tub for over a year. It was a splurge purchase when we remodeled our master bath. The first tub the builder installed cracked in the center after about 5 months. Koehler stood behind the product and replaced it. I chose it based on size as I am tall. It’s a little too long to start off. I’m 5’9” and I can’t get comfortably situated. The drain being in the center is a huge design flaw. If you decide to slide down and accidentally hit the drain it will empty quickly. You can re-engage the drain but you have to time it just right with the airflow/suction to get it to seal. I wish I had searched a little more. I had a regular cabinet enclosed jetted (never used) tub before. It was so much more comfortable. I would not purchase again. It is beautiful but again not as functional as I had hoped . I take a bath almost every night.

Kohler Memoirs Lithocast Tub

We have a brand new Kohler Memoirs Lithocast freestanding tub, purchased in August 2022. I do wish we would have been given some inside information on how terrible the center tow top drain can be. I’ve been reading reviews online and it seems that this is a very common problem -we would never have purchased this tub if we would have been made aware. At the very first use of the tub, the drain was not working properly. If you bump it by accident, you can’t close the drain back and you lose all your water. I contacted Kohler by chat last month and they sent a new drain. We replaced it and it worked a few times and we’re having the problem all over again.

Love this bathtub.

We bought this tub one year ago. My wife and I absolutely love it! We read some reviews that highlighted some concerns before purchasing the tub and we shared them with the dealer and our contractor. They assessed that if the tub drain did not work properly it was most likely an installation issue. They assured us we would not experience these issues and they were true to their word. We have had no issues and have enjoyed this luxurious tub for the past year. PS we also purchased the Memoirs matching toilet.

Love the tub; holds the heat well. The drain- I am so upset- less than 6 weeks after intermittent use, the drain will not close. Come on Kohler! You should have engineers tightening this up- not acceptable! Waiting on a new drain- cant use the tub until it arrives. How long will that one last?

Magnificent Tub!!!

Not only does this tub deliver a jaw-dropping response from everyone we show our master Suite to, it’s the ultimate soaking tub!!!!! We researched many freestanding tubs, we spent more money to purchase this one, and we clearly believe it was the best decision we could’ve made to take our master bath over the top of awesomeness!!!!

Great Tub

Personally, I don't take baths, but I did install this one for my wife. It is exceptionally well made (very heavy) and so far after one year of use, I have never heard my wife complain about the center drain. My wife says that it is very comfortable and the best tub she has ever owned. She loves it and that is good enough for me

Beautiful tub...terrible drain

We purchase this tub for a new house just over 6 months ago. It now continuously drains while the drain is plugged (enough so that it can’t hold more than 6 inches of water at most). We’ve had plumbers out 3 times to fix it and even received a new drain assembly from Kohler directly. They fix it, we use it once, and the problem starts again. VERY disappointed...especially with the cost of the tub.

Beautiful tub but has major design flaws- buy something else

Echo the comments of the reviewer Beth. Tub drain knocks on side of tub while draining. It is so loud it can be heard thru the entire house and renders the tub effectively unusable. The tub has been worked on three times by our builders and once by Kohler rep. Fixes by reps made the problem worse.

Memoirs free standing Kohler tub

This is a beautiful aesthetically elegant tub. Unfortunately the design of the drain is awful. Spent 5 grand on a tub that if the drain is hit by your foot or bottom while in the tub, it will drain the entire tub. You are unable to stop and reclose the drain. The drain also knocks against the tub when draining.
