Sturdy nut feeder

Great sturdy feeder the squirrels can’t destroy. However they did figure out how to lift up the plexiglass window to get at the peanuts without going through the top by lifting the lid. An improvement would be a locking tab to secure the plexiglass in place. Otherwise, it is far superior to the wooden feeders that the animals gnaw and destroy.

Put squirrels on a diet

I read other reviews about what squirrels do to the plexiglass panel. So I thought I'd out smart them by double wrapping the plexi panel in clear Gorilla Tape, they might break it, but, it wont come apart. It was tight getting it back in the slot, there, that should last. Securely mounted using bolts and washers, 18 gauge steel wire doubled to the neighbors steel chain link fence post. Mounted where the deer can't get to it and really difficult for the crows. That was last evening, this evening, went to check on it and the double taped plexi panel was gone. I can't find it anywhere.!!??!!?? It's still securely mounted, so I got that right. Squirrels aren't that smart, because now it doesn't hold much food. I'm thinking a piece of wood paint stick stuck in the bottom of the slot to hold 1.5" of food is what they get. The squirrels 'round here don't have off switches, they eat it all. So, yeah, they put themselves on a diet.

Very study. Ease to fill. Squirrels seem to enjoy getting their food.

Great metal squirrel lunchbox

This is very nicely made metal squirrel feeding box with lid. So far I haven't seen my squirrel lift the lid. I think he lifts the front glass enough to have feed slip out to tray in front. It's such fun to watch him come twice a day to eat from metal feeder.

Squirrels Love It!

over a year of Use & it still looks brand new. Easy to clean & easy to Mount.

Nice feeder. Holds a lot of peanuts. The only downside for me was the paperwork that came with said to turn the plexiglass upside down to get the squirrels to work harder to retrieve peanuts. Unfortunately, the plexiglass is crimped in across the entire top of the feeder making in almost impossible to flip the glass over without damaging it. Other than that, it’s very well built and should last several years.

Great product

The plexiglass is the problem. Squirrels, raccoons and deer have broken them and no one seems to be able to say who can replace them. The feeders are GREAT but the plexiglass needs to be stronger.

Love this squirrel feeder!

Love this squirrel feeder. I have two. I taped the glass down to keep the birds out or else the glass will get stuck and won’t close. Squirrels learn how to open the top and just grab and go.

Squirrels have benn unable to chew thru the metal frame as they did on the wood ones we previously purchased. We put heavy magnet on top door to make it more of a challenge for them to open

Squirrel house

It’s well made and hopefully the squirrels here will learn to open the lid to get the peanuts. Cardinals like the sunflower seeds and perch on it too.

Best squirrel feeder

I see people complaining about birds being able to lift the plastic window. If you slide the window out and flip it the window lays flush. I drilled two small he's and added to 1/4 hex screws to keep the window from lifting. Hope this helps. Your friendly engineer I have had this for years and 4 more just likes it. Cameras set up to watch them

Easily Breached.....

Birds can lift the clear shield and steal food from the squirrels. The trick in the info doesn’t slow them down; they just break the thin plastic. Also, I use thin strips of weatherstripping under the lid, because, after the squirrels lift it up to raid the peanuts it slams down and scares the heck out of them.
