Needed a little help

I had been looking online quite a while for a white chaise, and I was so happy to find a Crosley at TSC. I have other Crosley patio furniture so I knew I could trust the quality. I have to admit that I hired a local handyman to assemble this chaise -- too complicated and heavy for me -- but now that he has, it is a wonderful rest station after a day of gardening.

The assembly instructions are a bit difficult to get through, but accurate. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the screws are all silver, they should be white to match the white metal. The cushion is very comfortable, the cushion covers are sent separately for some reason. It’s a nice chair, probably should have a bit of a lower price point for the quality.

The simple lines appealed to me as I was replacing a vintage wrought iron chaise that I was tired of constantly having to repaint. It was easy to assemble and looks great on the patio. So far it has been fine, however I have’nt had it long enough to comment on its durability. I am considering buying a few other pieces to match it.

Decent quality. Comfortable. Good value.

First, despite the Overstock description as the "Davis Chaise Lounge," this is actually a Crosley Kaplan Chaise. We knew this going in, so no surprise there. If you are comparing with others found on line, you will find this particular item sold as a Crosley CO6212 or KO60018. Anyway, the item arrived in good shape and packing is well done. The main box is quite large and heavy. Note that the cover and chaise are shipped separately. The finish on the chaise is somewhat textured and seems durable. Hardware is all stainless steel and all nuts are welded into the frame. The design allows for most of the hardware to be completely hidden once the unit is assembled. An allen wrench is included. One nut had excessive paint inside it, but otherwise all fit well. . The instructions are adequate, but barely so. There was an error in one item's part number or the part itself was mis-labled. For a moment, I thought we were missing a piece, but once we figured it out, it was obvious. The instructions don't tell you, but a couple of the pieces are symmetrical except that there is a drain hole meant to be facing down. The assembly isn't complicated, but heed the instruction on every page to not tighten the bolts until assembly is complete. The cushion cover is one piece and you have to stuff the two (firm) cushions into the two sections. The instructions basically tell you to insert the cushions with no mention of the best way to do this. Well, this can be a challenge as the stitching on the cover is not exceptionally strong and, as mentioned, the cushions are very firm. As much as we tried to be careful, we ended up pulling the stitches on the longer cushion and this damaged the zipper. The cover itself is attractive and would seem to be durable enough. However, there are no specific care instructions or anything detailing to what extent the fabric resists water and sun. There are two ties that hold the cushion to the chaise. Not sure that these are adequate and the cushion does move around when positioning yourself. As for the sitting experience, it's actually quite comfortable. The cushions seem too firm at first, but once you sit for a while, you appreciate why they are this firm. The chaise is also plenty long for even the tallest people. The recline mechanism is typical and adjusts to several positions. If you lay the reclining portion completely flat, I don't like the way the prop folds as it is metal on metal with the frame. However, it's not likely that it will be used this way often. All in all, I think this chaise is a good value with decent quality. The price on Overstock was the best price we found. The frame should last a long time. I am not as sure about the cushion fabric, but only time will tell. The warranty is only 90 days, so pay attention to any defects as you assemble it. We did contact Crosley about the cover stitching/zipper and they promptly sent a replacement cover without any fuss.
