Wow... HansGrohe just keeps elevating their designs... this unit is just stunning as seen in pix, even more impressive to the eye Love the fact it has anti scald for protection... the gold color is flat out stunning... The volume / diverter knob is brilliant, turn to one side to control volume to one outlet, and the opposite turn to control volume to the other outlet...so no extra diverter needed, brilliant, not sure why this is not done in all these units.. The temp control performs tremendous, very sensitive... pair this with HGrohe gold rain shower head and u have an eye stopping shower! Includes rough in.... metal finish is superb as is the case with all HGrohe products... does not stain like cheaper finishes... cant find a flaw, 5 stars from this tough reviewer....

This is an excellent way to purchase Hansgrohe fixtures in a compatible all in one kit (as compared to purchasing the components separately). This Ecostat is really unique in that it features a diverter and valve system in one. You can control the water volume with the top handle. If you turn it to the left towards "1" then your flow comes out port 1 or if you turn it to the right to "2" then it comes out port 2. You can control the water flow by how far you turn it. It can go from a trickle to full volume. The second lower handle controls the temperature. If you leave it where you last used it, the water will return to that same temperature then next time you use it. This Valve, Diverter & Trim Kit can be paired up with a shower arm/head and a bar/wand combo. Or maybe a rain shower head and wand you you would rather. It makes for a convenient to access control system. It becomes second nature after a few uses. Hansgrohe makes many fine plumbing fixtures. The German engineering and attention to detail is superb. There is also another German manufacturer that is equally well know in the plumbing industry that goes by the name of Grohe. The 2 companies are separate entities and should not be confused with each other. Their parts and fixtures are not interchangeable.

This is beautiful and modern at the same time. Came with clear easy to understand instructions and installation was quite easy. The end result was amazing too! I don't even know how I lived without it, now that I am using it every day! Highly Recommend!

Easy to install especially if you watch the video. I used this faucet along with the matching iBox rough in. I'm not a professional... just a DIY homeowner but this faucet is very straight forward and seems to me that it is more waterproof than a normal faucet. Any spray from the shower has no way to get behind the wall and cause problems. The faucet itself works well. I took the collar out to allow both the handheld and the rainhead to operate simultaneously. I would highly recommend this faucet to anyone building a new shower or updating an old one.

As a temperature controller/valve combination, this works great, but you have to be careful with the installation. Our contractor installed the iBox per spec and the knobs ended up way away from the base plate. Since the iBox is plumbed in, against the studs and behind the wallboard, concrete, thin set, and stone/tile/whatever, there's no way to adjust it. The Hansgrohe installation guide actually allows the end of the knobs to be 3-3/4" from the wall surface. My picture (which may or may not be displaying) shows them at 3-3/8"...the flared base is almost 1" away from the baseplate. Worst case, they can be over 1-1/4" away and still be within spec. I really don't like the way it looks. I would have much preferred the knobs to be 1/4 - 1/2" out but I'm completely stuck...

The handles are very solid and have a fluid, smooth feel when turning up/down. This also looks great in the shower and compliments the other Hansgrohe products. It's nice having a separate temperature and volume control so we are not having to tweak the temperature every time we get into the shower. As others said, it would be nice to have a more solid back plate, but it was really only noticeable when we held it before installation. Gets the job done and looks great at the same time. Would buy it again.

I like everything except how easily it gets spotted from our hard water here in Southern California. But the function, design and everything else is great! I love how it functions. I like the roughing valve that goes in behind it also. I bought another one for the other bathroom too. Only cons were: 1. water spots on the finish easily 2. if you have to take it off, the nylon screws holding the back plate on can get stuck and almost break off. Had to vise grip the threads behind the head and rotate to finish getting the off. make sure you cut them and don't use them at full length. 3. instructions weren't very clear how the diverter single function plastic bushing goes in because the pictures weren't too clear.
