This is just what I expected. Stylish metal frame with dark brown shelves. Bonus is it was EASY to assemble. I'm a 60-yr-old grandma, and I got it moved in the house, unpacked and assembled in 45 minutes!

Assembly more than we expected

As mentioned the shelves did not have holes for the screws. We had to purchase a drill to complete the assembly, It took two of use two days, I would only recommend the strong and mighty purchase, Not for the senior generation.

Not easy to assemble

The shelves did not have holes pre drilled in them and they are too thick to use a screwdriver to make holes. Parts of the frame had rough metal so it didn't line up properly.

The metal frames are crooked. They put holes in the wrong spots. Paint was already off on several spots

A couple of positives to preamble this review: the shelves feel very sturdy, and it's true to size. Unfortunately, it's also very shoddily made. The squares on the sides are askew, and in some places there's a big gap where they're supposed to be attached (see photos). You'll need a power drill to secure the shelves because there are no pre-drilled holes in them. It also arrived dirty, although all the dirt cleaned off easily. If I'd bought this for decorative purposes, I'd be livid. Luckily, the reason I risked buying something with no reviews was simply because I needed a shelf a very specific size to fit in my closet for storage, and this fits the dimensions perfectly. It is DEFINITELY not worth what they're charging for it either way, though. Very disappointed that I wasted that much money. I had previously, very generously, given this product two stars. That promptly dropped to only one when they had the GALL to try and reject my review on the basis that my feedback was all "shipping issues".

Expensive Looking & Very Sturdy

BEAUTIFUL BOOKCASE!!

I love it! Very nice! It is a little shorter than I anticipated, but is perfect to organize my movies on. It looks alot more expensive than what it cost. Very simple assembly.

Good if you want a project.

This is a gorgeous bookcase if you don't mind putting in some work. The packaging was so poor that there were significant portions were missing paint from friction. I had to buy spray paint and repaint the metal frame. The frame is a little off and misshapen so I could not put in one of the screws attaching the side frame to the back. It made adding the shelves a huge pain too. There were also no pre-drilled holes for the shelves to attach to the frame. This was a PROJECT.

extra work involved with assembling the bookcase

The shelves, of course, need to fasten with screws on the metal frame. But as with other bookcases I purchased from Big Lot, there are no started holes in the shelves to help one to insert the screws that would aid with fasting it to the metal frame. Luckily, I had a silver color pen to mark where the screws should be and used a hammer and nail to make starters holes that helped in screwing the shelf to the frame. For the extra work involved, I gave the review 3 stars. However, once it is assembled, it is a firm, strong standing bookcase. Also, the corner bookcase and 4-shelf bookcase perfectly align.

Decent bookcase

The appearance is nice overall. However, one of bars on in back was loose; badly welded. And the shelves had a few scuff marks. Nothing too bad.
