Great while it lasted

Worked great for literally a week then it died, water somehow got inside the unit and it fried itself. Buying a waterproof unit from another company instead.

This sous vide circulator does a great job of keeping even a larger ice chest of water up to temp. Accuracy is about +/- 0.5°F. Up & down keys are a bit fussy but that's a minor thing.

Defective

Mine was defective. I could decrease the temp but not increase it. I am still waiting for a replacement.

Don't buy it.

Its a pain to set the temperature and the time. I can't tell if it's durable. I just bought it.

GREAT PRODUCT

This was my second purchase of this same model sous vide cooker. The first cooker is still going strong but I needed a second so I bought one without hesitation due to the performance. I've had the first unit for one year.

Nice unit, wish the unit sent to me worked

Looks like a nice unit, and controls are great, but my unit was DOA as it would not hold temperatures. Replacements not available in a timeframe that worked for me. Customer service was great to arrange a refund.

Less expensive without sacrificing quality

I sous vide food a lot, mostly chicken, and my Anova recently gave out so I thought I'd buy this alternative brand, thinking that at least it's cheap (only about half the price!). So far, it hasn't given me any issues. It does heat up the water faster than my old Anova, and I've noticed it is slightly louder but not by much.

Worked for one day

I bought this for my son for Christmas. He used it twice and now the minus button will not work. I also haven't heard back from Monoprice. We'll see.

Back to Basics

Worked great! I?m a fan of back to basics. This manually adjusted sous vide is simple to use and doesn?t require a smart phone to prepare a meal.

Better than pricier brands

Better than both the Anova Sous Vides I own at a much lower price. It?s much quieter (it?s basically completely silent) vs loud. It heats the water up much more quickly. The buttons on this one are a little bit clunky compared to Anova (but it isn?t a bother), and it doesn?t connect to Wi-Fi (but again?no bother?I don?t need to use an app to sous vide, because I need to be next to it to drop food in, etc anyway). Strata Home is fantastic.
