We needed an extension cord for tv equipment and our Ace store - Blackbird is minutes away . Their helpful staff showed me various options and we chose this one with a surge protector.

Not good for mounting on a wall

I cannot vouch for how well this works as a surge protector. My big non-starter is that I cannot mount this power strip on the wall. There are keyhole slots on the back, which ordinarily make it easy to mount onto the wall. The trouble with this unit is that the plastic on the back is so stiff and unbendable, that you cannot slide the power strip onto the screwheads protruding from the wall. This surge protector might work out fine if you just want to leave it on the floor or a desk. But I cannot recommend it for mounting on a wall. I will be returning my power strip to Ace and buying something else.
