The bookcase frame is made of wood and the shelves from a particle board like material. The bookcase sways from side to side and is unstable. One shelf chipped from being removed and repositioned. Dont buy this book case.

Mom needs a space for cookbooks!

This was THE BEST find EVER! I needed a space in my kitchen to storage my many cookbooks! Viola problem solved! Takes up little space, looks good, freed up cabinet space.

Perfect white bookcase for an office!

I purchased this in white for my small home office and it was easy to put together, by myself with a few tools. It is taller than me but it was no issue with assembly. It looks great in the office and does a great job holding my books and other things that I have displayed.

Nice bookcases

Love these bookcases. They go great with my Oxford drawer bookcase. The only complaint I have is the shelves are not smooth. They look like natural wood but are rather course.

I have 4 shelves loaded with books & pictures & it holds all of it nicely.

very nice bookshelf, sturdy. Easy to ensamble. I liked the wood as well as the design. Lots of books look neat and organized. I would recommend this product.

Excellent solid wood bookshelf

Excellent bookshelf which is solid wood and well-made. I already have two of them in my home office and know they can accommodate a lot of books. Lightens up the appearance of a shelf in my dining room due to the open back and sides; I used to have a darker wood bookshelf made of particle board and this is much better!

Unbelievably disappointing.

Unbelievably disappointed with these. I ordered "Walnut", but they are more "Cherry" than Walnut. Totally does not match my decor. The little nubs that cover the screws are more walnut in color. The shelves are scratched, heavily. The little nubs that go cover the screws are scratched. I probably won't be ordering anything from Overstock again.

I love this bookshelf. It was very easy to assemble. I did it by myself and had no issues holding pieces together. No issues being able to support its weight. The best thing is that it’s actually stained wood, not particle board or plastic.

I love this bookcase. It’s excellent quality . I ordered it in walnut. It’s fits perfectly in the den. It was easy to put together for my husband . I ordered only one , three are shown together online . It was purchased at a wonderful price. You can’t go wrong with this item.

Really like it!

Great value for $***! Fairly easy to put together (and I am NOT mechanically inclined!). (You WILL need a small phillips-head screwdriver and DO pay attention to the installation of the shelves' crossbars as this wasn't clearly defined in the written instructions.) Would definitely recommend. Am using it for some reference books in my office inside a white dormer window. Really like it!

Best Bang for Your Buck

These are exactly as advertised, simple without sacrificing quality, utilitarian without being ugly, We got two of these as overflow for our book collection in a spare bedroom which sports primarily early 20th century hand-me-down furniture. These complement the room nicely. If I have any complaints it is that these shelves are almost tall enough to justify an additional shelf and, unless you are storing nothing but oversized coffee table books, some of the shelves will look decidedly bare at the top. I think these will hold up well for many years and seem to be a good value for the price.

Exactly what I wanted for a functional office!

The bookcases compliment my husband's office. They are made of real wood and not particle boards. They were easy to assemble. They will last a long time. If you are planning to get a few of these bookcases, do not hesitate. It will be money well spent.

Easy assembly. Good look. Watch color?

Came well-packed. Easy to assemble. Nice design & function. Only complaint is the "walnut" color I ordered (wanted brownish) is definitely more mahogony (reddish.)

Higher quality than most others in a comparable price category. No particle board! Assembling wasn't difficult though I'd recommend having a cordless drill with a bit the same size as the Allen key for quicker assembly. Very well packed and each piece individually wrapped to ensure less marking/scuffing on the wood. Only complaint is the damn warning sticker is stuck right in the middle of a shelf on the side facing up (so it can't point to the floor) and is difficult to remove without tearing and requiring some Goo Gone to get rid of it.
