Easy to set up and use. Keeps coffee hot and brews quickly. It is not noticablely loud but does emit a little bit of steam from the top while brewing. I did not purchase the water filter or reusable filter (separate purchase optional accessories) and only used paper filters, but it still made a good tasting cup of coffee. The clock very easy to set as well as the programmable timer. Overall it is a great coffee maker for the price.

"Grab-a-Cup Auto Pause" is a lie

It claims to have the "Grab-a-Cup Auto Pause" feature, but it doesn't, or at least it doesn't work. If you try to get a cup mid-brew, it pours continuously onto the burner.

Not happy with my purchase

I cannot recommend the Mr. Coffee 5-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker. While it boasts features like programmability and a compact size, the machine's design is problematic. The lid's hinge placement makes it awkward to use, especially for left-handed individuals. The water reservoir is difficult to fill accurately. The previous Mr. Coffee machine that I replaced had a much better design.

looks nice, performs well.

Hubby drinks coffee, makes 3-6 oz cups so I liked removing the big mr. coffee on the counter. I like the smaller size. Hubby thinks the coffee is a little less hot than 12 cup. Seems alot of reviews had issues with the paper filters. I purchased the "Brew Rite" 4 cup brown filters which were by the coffee makers, not in the coffee aisle by other filters, only a few cents more than generic filters. Seem a little sturdier sides and work fine, no folding over filter, no messy grounds in coffee. And hubby puts in 3 heaping coffee scoops for 3-6 oz cups. Great price with the Walmart Cash back!

Good value and a reliable brew.

What can I say? It's a reliable coffeemaker at a great price. I got it to replace a nearly 10-year-old Mr. Coffee that finally conked out after thousands of brews. This one brews a full 5-cup pot in 6 minutes. The newer carafe design doesn't drip like the old one. REALLY appreciate the 2-hour shutoff. Huge improvement over the 1-hour shutoff of the older models.

Definitely Not...shame on Mr. Coffee

Do not buy. I seldom leave bad reviews but this product is awful. I've used Mr. Coffee 4 %26 5 cup coffee makers for years and years and have been very happy. Like others have noted, this product must be defective. The water fills up the coffee filter basket to the top but doesn't drain quickly enough into the pot. This causes an overflow of coffee grounds into the base and coffee pot. The pot never completely fills with coffee since water remains stuck in the basket. Such a mess.

Fantastic Coffee Machine!

My Mr. Coffee 5-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker is the perfect fit for me and my family. We truly need and enjoy using the programmable feature and appreciate that the coffee machine keeps our coffee warm for up to 2 hrs after brewing... So, our delicious hot coffee is waiting for us whenever we are ready to drink it. The price point is reasonable and the black color pairs nicely with our black and stainless steel kitchen appliances. We are very satisfied with our purchase and we highly recommend.

My last Mr. Coffee 4 cup maker lasted at least 15 years so when it was time for a new one I chose Mr. Coffee! Got the 5 cup maker this time so a bit of an upgrade! It’s mainly for when my mother visits or when we have guests. It’s compact and doesn’t take up a lot of counter space. I do miss the old feature that I could stash the cord inside the back of the machine. It makes 5 cups of coffee pretty fast and my mom loves it! I love the simplicity of 1 on / off button. ( not programmable ) . Nothing fancy and gets the job done ! I’m buying more for our rental properties since it’s dependable and easy! Also easy to clean! Get one ! You won’t regret it .

Don’t waste your money..

I hardly ever take time to leave negative reviews, but writing this one in hopes to save others the inconvenience. Bought this coffee maker for the first time, got it home and out of the box and it immediately didn’t work. I missed the return window so assumed I got a faulty one and bought another. It worked for not quite two months before it also quit working. The ‘brew now’ button, and ‘hour’ and ‘minute’ buttons all just stopped working one morning. So, no way to get the coffee to start brewing.

Compact, fits perfectly, Recommended!

Replacing an older Mr. Coffee 5 cup Maker was pleasantly surprised to find that it fit well into my limited space and was very easy to setup and program to "brew later". The top lid opens to the side which meant that it didn't hit the underside of my cabinet and made it easy to add water, coffee filter, and coffee. Nice touch that the water "sprayer" is automatically moved back into proper position when the lid is closed.

Not worth the money

Due to the cost of coffee pods, I decided to switch back to a regular coffee brewer. Being single, I wanted a small one. I chose the Mr. Coffee because I thought it would be a quality coffee maker. I was very disappointed. It was junk, flimsy plastic and wasn’t even made straight. It rocked no matter where I put it. And it took forever to brew a tiny pot of coffee. I was so disgusted with it I threw it away.

I love this coffee maker. I've repurchased it twice over the last six years, but it's always been due to the glass coffee pot breaking while doing dishes, and not because the machine itself malfunctioned. It's a simple coffee maker but works well. You don't need anything fancy for a basic pot of coffee anyway. It's a great size if there's just one coffee drinker in your house, or if people like small amounts. I get 2-3 mugs of coffee from the pot, which is perfect. I haven't tested the preset timer mode, so I can't evaluate how well that function works.

Great size for 1-2 people and RV use.

I upgraded from the old Mr Coffee and it’s bigger than the old one that I bought 4 years ago. Same cup size. I set the clock and then set the time I want coffee to make and it works great. Does not have a filter cup so I kept the one I had from my old Mr Coffee. Although I will use filters because it’s used in my RV. It’s too hard to use a coffee filter because of the grounds getting washed down the sink which is bad in an RV. So yea, I like using disposable coffee filters because it cleans up real easy but I like having the filter bucket for when I run out of paper filters.

When 5 cups is all your need, this does the job!

For those looking for a smaller coffee maker, that only brews a few cups at a time, this little unit brews the perfect amount. No more stale or burnt tasting coffee after the first cup, fresh coffee in a few minutes, and no more worries about forgetting to shut it off as it can do that itself after 2 hours. You can even program it to have fresh coffee at whatever time you want to come home or wake up to. It keeps your coffee hot after brewing, at the perfect temperature. If you can't wait for it to brew the entire pot, it also has the brew pause when you remove the pot during the brewing cycle. No worries about it dripping on the heating element. Simple to use. Just one pot of water, 1/4 cup of your favorite coffee grounds, into a 5 cup basket filter(not included but reasonably priced elsewhere if looking for a permanent gold-tone filter, or 4 cup basket filters are easy to find in store as well; will give you the perfect flavored cup of your favorite beverage; all you have to do is turn it on after filling with water and coffee. This is a little workhorse that gives you the taste you expect from the big machines, but in a smaller quantity. This little machine makes the perfect amount two large coffee mug servings, or one large to-go cup (20 to 25oz.).

Great but coffee pot too short

When the pot is brewing, had tendency to overflow the brew basket putting grounds into the pot.
