The umbrella is almost perfect. I love the black and white cabana stripe. The Sunbrella fabric should wear well.
I love this California Umbrella 9’ Venture Series Patio Umbrella! It’s a beautiful blue color and feels well made. This umbrella provides a decent amount of shade and is very easy to set up. This has a push lift system which means you physically have to push the umbrella up then secure it with a metal key. It’s easy to do though. Overall I love the way this looks in my backyard. It’s sturdy but also light enough that I was able to set it up on my own. I’d recommend this umbrella as it’s really quite nice!
Gorgeous & Functional
I'm a tough grader but this product earns the top score. The aluminum pole is sturdier than I expected and set-up was a breeze. Speaking of breezes, I purchased an 80-lb base to keep it in place on my deck. My 4' round glass-top table wouldn't be trusted to keep it grounded, even with the vented canopy, but with the heavy base my table & umbrella won't be going anywhere! This umbrella has the features I wanted (including high quality dark green fabric, fiberglass ribs, and vented canopy). I intentionally ordered a "no tilt" pole and no crank for raising & lowering (because I want to keep moving parts that could wear out to a minimum). It's easy to raise & lower without a crank. Without the tilt option, I probably could have gone bigger than 9' (for my 12' x 13' deck). It won't quite shade all 4 chairs at the same time unless the sun is straight up, but 2 will be back-toward-the-sun and 2 will be fully shaded so no one is staring into bright sunlight (and usually it will be just 1 or 2 people there anyway in the cool shade). I could not be more pleased with this patio market umbrella!

Beautiful umbrella but it either has a design flaw or a production mistake. There was no way to connect the umbrella to the pole. They basically took the entire length of the umbrella, cut it in half and attached a small plastic sleeve to the bottom half. The interior lip of the sleeve was the same diameter as the umbrella pole, so there was no way to slide the poles together. Even if it had been wide enough the overlap was only about an inch or two so it wouldn’t have been structurally sound anyway.
Extremely worried about cranking effort required to raise umbrella.
I had great expectations. I purchaed 8 aqua sunbrella umbrellas for my 400- resident community pool. Although, the umbrellas look pretty at poolside, they are EXTREMELY difficult, almost IMPOSSIBLE, to crank open, and the center ring/ribs never gets raised to the highest level because the material is too heavy to be supported by the string/cord. I am VERY stressed because I fear with minimal use, the cord and its pulley will buckle under the load and will break. The cord only pulls the rib system up on one side which causes the raising system to be pulled to that side, thereby creating ALOT of friction on the string. These were not inexpensive and my reputation rests on whether or not these umbrellas last through this 2021 pool season, and if I'm lucky, into 2022. I strongly feel this cord system will break within the early part of this pool season. At that point, I will be asked why I purchased them. I realize that they haven't broken yet, and I am not, by nature, an alarmist. But, I do know that when mechanical pulleys are put under EXTREME pressure, they fail. I wish I had not purchased this item.

I thouroughly reviewed all types of patio umbrellas and am very glad i did so. The help from other reviews is what made me choose this umbrella, first the color selection is probably the best of all other umbrellas. I cannot say enough of about the excellent quality of the material and stability of this product. It comes perfectly packaged, easy to take out of box nothing to put together, just place in table and wind up. The crank was a little stiff at first, I actually like that but is is so easy to wind up now. The color looks exactly as shown, and was just what I was looking for, easy to tie closed when not in use. The bronze pole as I said is solid, sturdy and stays put. We had one of our most severe storms and it didn't budge or discolor. I am very happy and pleased with the time I took to read up and decide on ordering this. I would give this umbrella ten stars if I could, so a big 5-stars for California Umbrella! I highly recommend their umbrellas to anyone out there looking for one. The price is so reasonable and honestly worth every cent. I love our new patio umbrella!
