Wish I'd Bought it Years Ago

I've had an 8-inch cast iron skillet for at least a couple of decades, and I liked it, but I often wished it had a lid. That's what sent me to Lehman's in search of a similar-sized skillet with a lid. I couldn't be happier with this one. It's so smooth it almost doesn't seem like cast iron. The glass lid is perfect. It is now my favorite cast iron skillet--and I have LOTS!

So far, I have liked the performance. Can heat to a higher temperature than others I have,. I can lift it, which is better than the cast iron I had to stop using. Cleans easily. .

Love this Pan

was looking for a safer pan.. I threw away all my old non stick.. these arrived yesterday .. I immediately cleaned, seasoned per the instructions.. so easy and and ready for Sunday breakfast.. it’s a quality pan.. I made eggs and was pleased at how they slid around the pan.. I have both this pan and the11 in.. I hope you make some pots and other items.. I am a super Fan!!!

Good morning everyone! I had never heard of this type of cast iron so I was skeptical. Then I considered the communities Lehman's has served for so many years successfully.

Nice skillet

Works like cast iron, but lighter and easier to handle. I also love the see through lid! The hole in the handle makes it easy to hang and it looks good too!

Try it, you'll like it

The more I use it, the better I like it. I hope to purchase the larger size in the future. It Is a good weight as I found the "normal" cast iron a bit cumbersome due to the weight.

Nice that it comes with lid

I haven’t used the pan yet. Giving 4 stars as no instructions on how high the heat should be if using stove top instead of oven. Apparently I used wrong heat setting as I had to scrub and scrape the gunk that formed after heating. I’m looking forward to trying it out tonight

Good alternative to regular cast iron pan

I've used the skillet a few times but the jury is still out on if can take the place of a regular cast iron pan. It cooks food well but the surface seems easy to scratch. Some of the 'blackening' or seasoning rubbed off but should build back with use. I like the size, at 11 inches it's between the 10.25 inch and 12 inch standard skillets. I like the thin side walls but we'll see if it warps with use. The handle is hollow and is easy to hold.

I bought this skillet over a year ago. It is so awesome. I cooks evenly, cleans like a dream, and is light weight. I love the fitted lid too.

It is nice having the perks of cast iron minus the weight.

A great skillet

Even heating, lighter weight, thick bottom to avoid scorches, it's become my go-to skillet. The lid is a must as well.

Read your description and I was skeptical 🤨. My skepticism turn into😊. I have three skillets and a griddle ( all very well seasoned). This large skillet I washed, put a little oil in it once it was warm. Wiped it out added a few drops of grape seed oil and Pat of butter. Got it very warm and fried 3 smash burgers! They released flawlessly from both sides. It has become my favorite skillet. Everything from bacon, eggs ( regular &scrambled). Omelettes. Mushrooms, peppers and onions. The only clean up is wipe it out sometimes lightly scour with chain mail rinse and wipe out

Need one size larger!

I bought the 11". Quite a big of floor space is lose to the sloped sides. I'd love a 13" version to cover my big burner n the same way that my 12" Lodge pan does. The handle is super comfortable, but as mentioned, also awkwardly long, it gets in the way quite often if it isn't the only pan on your cooktop or in the oven. NOW, onto the nitrided surface. WOW is this thing nearly glass smooth. I cooked on it, everything stuck. I tried to season it, it just flaked off. I scrubbed the flakes off and just cooked on it, dealing with the sticking. Slowly but surely it is building up a season that isn't coming off. and it is now quite nonstick. I love the lighter weight, but still heft and heat holding this pan has. It IS quickly becoming my favorite, I just need a larger one too.

The handle gets really hot. My husband. And daughter really aren’t pleased with the stickiness. Both like real cast iron better.
