Disappointed

I got the lavender cast iron it's beautiful. I followed the instructions of heating up oil for 3 mins before use (I didn't use vegetable oil I used sesame. Maybe that made the difference) the first time using it I made eggs and it did not stick. I washed once cooled, dried with paper towel and added some oil after. Every time I used it after that time food has stuck. I bought vegetable oil too season again with heat then cooked with it in the oven. Once pan cooled the sauce from my lamb stuck I had to boil it to remove it. Cooled eggs again and they stuck as well. So I'm disappointed.

Great cast iron pan!

Such a great pan! It’s perfect for searing, or doing a one pot dish that finished in the oven. We don’t use this on high heat, but it gets plenty hot when needed. And we use a gentle cloth to clean so it doesn’t scratch. It’s been a couple of months now and still love it! I like the clear lid too - when I put the dish in the oven to finish cooking, the lid didn’t get foggy so I was easily able to see if the food looked done. Love this!

I love the Perfect Pans and Perfect Pot that I purchased in the past. However, I am very unhappy with the Cast Iron Always pans that I purchased. I bought one for my daughter-in-law for Christmas and one for me. For starters, the pan and the cover are both quite heavy. I have used the pan only a few times and each time have followed the heating, cooking and cleaning instructions. The pan does not come clean.

Good cast iron, nonstick leaves a bit to be desired

This is a great cast iron pan, and generally does everything I need it to. The quality of the components is fantastic, it is a great size, and the rubber holders it came with are wonderful.

High price tag, low quality product.

I bought this set for my wife who really cooks. She loved the look of the Char color and trusted the numerous positive reviews, however it’s an influencer sham. If you really cook, these pots and pans are horrendous. The customer service is even worse. Half our of set arrived chipped and the nonstick on the Always Pan is non-existent. She can’t even cook eggs without them burning and sticking to the pan. What did we pay for? Instead of the company sending us a replacement for the chipped and defective ones they want us to ship them back first. This is our only cook set so we’d be without cookware for weeks. Don’t fall for the trendiness of these.

Wanted To Love It

Wanted to love this, because it is the right price and SO cute. However, I'm on my second oven because the first one didn't heat anything. This one works, but it takes longer than my Ninja air fryer did for the same recipes. I also find the fact that the trays are not dishwasher safe to be difficult, and the fact that you can't use oven cleaner on the inside. Soap and water does nothing to help with the grease inside, and the trays are already starting to discolor. The oven door also doesn't open far enough, with the handle, unless you hang it off the counter - so get burned or drop the food, your choice. It's a bummer that the functionality wasn't as polished as the aesthetic.

Cast Iron Always Pan

Absolutely love the color scheme is one of my favorite colors in general. I absolutely love the versatility and how sturdy and then to add when they tell you non stick your cooked food literally slides out and nothing is left behind. Overall I Love Love Love this brand and their entire line of cook wear! They’re so beautiful and I actually love cooking again bc not I don’t have to worry abt the “non stick” ever becoming sticky like most pots that tell their non stick and eventually it sticks. And the handle and the special cooking spoons are so convenient and smart. Holding these pots it’s so easy especially with the little rubber hand mitts! Also the fact that it’s cast iron will last forever so long as you care for your cast irons properly.

My Iron Giant

My goodness, I thought I read somewhere that this pan was a lighter version of a cast iron but boy was I wrong. This is the real deal. It's very sturdy, and pretty. I made a pizza in there and it didn't stick at all but cooked thoroughly. I can't wait to try steaks and other items that I'll need to sear up. It was a super easy clean, I enjoy that you can use soap on this dish and it doesn't require the typical seasoning to get it just right.

Exercise before using...

This is a lovely looking pan - mine is Sage - but be aware it is VERY heavy. You have the traditional weight of cast iron plus a heavy enamel coating inside which gives it a (somewhat) non-stick cooking surface. Add the glass lid and the weight of whatever you're cooking and you will lifting ten or so pounds. Our Place includes a matching slip-on handle cover and another grip for the second handle which is helpful (and necessary especially if you're using in a hot oven). After using the cast iron pan twice, I have to say I'm not sure I would have purchased this pan had I tried it out prior to buying due to the weight of it.

Happy I finally bought it

It’s beautiful, handy, and fun. I love how convenient it is. It’s perfect for frittatas in the oven, where the best frittatas are made. Wonderful for cooking steaks. And it’s a great size for cooking dishes for two people. I’m hoping they come out with the cast iron in the larger size.

Beautiful and highly functional pan!

I had been wanting to try out their cast iron pans and so glad I was able to save on a bundle. It's got a good weight but not so heavy as to be difficult to manuever. The sage color enamel is stunning and hoping it won't chip as my Aways pan did after a year, but I did use it constantly. As suggested, I did heat it up for the first time with some vegetable oil, but it's really ready to go. It heats evenly, but remember to start on a lower than heat than normal as it gets hot fast and maintains it's temperature. I always start off just below medium on a gas stove and rarely have to increase it much if at all. I'm going to get the cast iron pot next!

My favorite pan that I own!

I was recently diagnosed with Hashimotos and had to change my cooking technique. I wanted to include more iron in my diet, which is why I invested in this cast iron. I really love this pan. It's easy to clean compared to my old cast iron. I ditched my old one because the upkeep was time consuming and extremely heavy. This cast iron isn't heavy compared to a standard cast iron pan, which my wrists appreciates. Cleaning is a breeze and I adore the lavender color. I look forward to cooking my meals more often now. I highly recommend this product as a staple in your kitchen. <3

Consumer Choice Cast Iron

I’ve never invested much in cookware when I was younger living with family. As I moved out and on my own I realized I required quality products that I could move with and last a long time. Cleaning has been a breeze and cooking with the cast iron has always been a pleasure. I often cook with sesame,olive oil and duck fat and this pan handles all. I would highly recommend this pan for serious cooking. The rubber grips that come with it are a plus. I also enjoy that this is a company that responds to feedback and they are now creating the always pan 2.0.

IMPOSSIBLE to Clean

I used the Cast Iron pan three times to sear meat. Each time it left dark black stains on the bottom of the pan. They were IMPOSSIBLE to remove, despite using the provided sponge and following all instructions for cleaning. I am returning this pan. I have been incredibly disappointed with Our Place products. I purchased the Perfect Pot and the Always Pan for myself and a set for my mom. After just a few months of use (following all instructions) the non-stick coating on the pan stopped working for both of us. This is an issue others report as well (search online). Our Place refused to replace the items since we were beyond the one year warranty period when we reported the issues, even though the issue occurred within a few months of purchase and with TWO different pans. Our Place refused to do anything to help other than provide more instructions for cleaning--which we followed diligently and proved useless. My mistake for not reporting sooner, though I am deeply disappointed in these products and in the level of customer care and concern, especially for products with such a high price point. I expect much better products and a lot more concern for customer care and loyalty from Our Place.

Lost my Love for the Always Pan, so Sad.

You will love it for the 13 months, then it looses its non-stick properties. I am not a cook. I use infrequently. I use low to medium heat only, never heat the pan without food. Use high heat oil, use your lid always. Do not clean when pan hot. Did all that still my lovely pan lost all non-stick - even with high heat oil. This pan is like a bad boyfriend I spent money on, and who treated me badly in the end. Over priced. Nice company but no phone support - you have to wait for response. If you do not mind a pan that only lasts a year this is great and lightweight. ( also..do not use the metal steamer - the feet / legs scratch the bottom of pan )

Beautiful pan, cooks well, stays hot

First of all, let me say that the blue salt color is beautiful! I love that it came with silicone handle grippers. I'm not a fan of the wooden spatula that came with it but I have another wooden spoon/scraper that I love so that's not a big deal to me. The cast iron pan sears steaks great and caramelizes onions beautifully. This pan gets hot quickly and stays hot. I've only put it in the oven once to bake a meatloaf and that worked great as well. I deducted 1 star because I do find it is a bit harder to clean than I had hoped. I was under the impression that this was non-stick but it is not. I do have to scrape off the stuck on bits each time that I have used it. Then I find it cleans best with coarse salt and a Mr. Clean magic eraser then soapy water. Then I rub on a tiny bit of oil. But I like my pans to be as clean and new looking as when I got them inside and out so maybe I go a bit overboard to ensure that it is cleaned to pristine condition. Overall, very happy with this pan so far. I hope to add other pieces in the blue salt color as I can.

Nice pan, don’t use the enclosed scrubber

This pan is nice but don’t use the enclosed scrubber. I am giving it 4 stars because of that and that the kids have a rippled defect in them. Both the original and the replacement. The scrubber scratched the paint off the bottom so I imagine it messed up the enamel when I was scrubbing out the pieces of bacon burned to the pan. It sticking was user error. Look up how to heat up an enameled cast iron pan because it makes all the difference in things sticking. Also, don’t be like me and put cold meat in a hot pan. There are some marks from the steaks in the pan as well. I did read that could be normal and a start of a patina. The bottom stained slightly the second time I used it and I cleaned the eye of the stove really well before hand to keep it looking pretty, or so I thought. The enamel flaked off the edge too in a spot or two. I like it but just be cautious of those things. It’s beautiful for sure and cooks really well. If you can get over the few issues.
