No other choice for me

What can I say? I have 6 Le Crucet pots now- a huge Dutch oven, a huge braiser, an oval Dutch oven, and two old ones I’ve had forever that I use to bake bread. I needed a smaller Dutch oven to make jelly and I saved up until I could buy it. I know there are cheaper alternatives that are well made but I didn’t even consider them. I’m a prolific cook, and Le Crucet has served me well my entire adult life. No other choice for me. They’re beautiful to look at and a pleasure to use.

Perfect size

I bought this for making “no-kneed” bread. The loaf rose beautifully. The smaller size of this product made it easier to manage. But this item is still heavy. Use caution! I did NOT pre-heat it in the oven empty, as most companies direct and still had great results. Parchment paper underneath helps to safely remove the loaf from the very hot dutch oven. Happy cooking!

Conflicted on quality

Ordered this for online pickup in the store as a gift. When I picked it up it was not in a box but wrapped in bubble wrap. I didn't check it and didn't discover till I got home. Had to go back and have it replaced with one in a box. Again, didn't check it out well and when my daughter opened it - the lid was damaged. Back again - I am now on order no 3 so hopefully this one arrives ok. The floor model was all scratched around the lid and I feel the rim of the pot is quite rough. Makes me question the quality of this dutch oven. Waiting for the new one to arrive so hopefully will have a better review the next time!

Love, Love Love this Dutch Oven

I debated about size, and finally chose the 5.5 quart one. I think it's perfect for me in preparing recipes that

Damaged Cast Iron Pot

The Le Creuset Cast Iron Dutch oven I ordered came with one handle complete broken off and an additional piece broken off the body of the pot. Although double boxed, it was the Le Creuset box that was damaged, indicating the pot was ruined before it was shipped.

Favorite gift

This was a gift for my husband for Christmas. He has wanted this item for as long as I can remember. It has been THE best coking gift of our over 40 years together. He has used it for cooking soup, stew, chili, sautéing, and cooking just about anything he wants to, that requires a skillet with very high sides! I am so glad I finally bought it for him. He can’t wait to cook in it, every time he is cooking- which is most every night. Also, it has even heat throughout, is easy to clean, and is the most beautiful blue color. Would recommend hands down.

Le Crueset is always the best

I mean this is my third Le Creuset item and I use all of them religiously- I just love the quality hands down and am completely brand loyal. I like to mix up the colours of my stone wear to keep my kitchen exciting and while my new Dutch Oven is a cream colour it of course goes well with the rest (orange and blue). Beautiful oven, cooks as I expect (perfectly) and easy to clean. Love the wide girth of this oven in particular - not only does the heat spread evenly the wide surface area is also helpful. The only drawback? Is the handle. It’s already gotten a bit lose but a quick turn of the screwdriver and it is completely fine.

Crushed Box

I purchased this pot from Nordstrom because it was the only site that had my color. Le Creuset cookware is the best in the world. It was disappointing to see how it arrived. The exterior as well as the interior box was crushed. I save my boxes to house my cookware in future moves to ensure they don't get damaged. Thankfully all that was scratched was the knob that I will have to purchase and replace. The pot wasn't damaged. Ultimately it wasn't as good of a sale as it should have been.

Got the wrong item.

Well….the only thing right was the color. I got a tiny (8oz?) version of this pot for my $400. Very strange. The small box even appeared to have an authentic sticker for the 4.5 qt pot that I ordered. The customer service rep was very nice and refunded my money (after they received the returned mini pot; personally I think they should have just given it to me for the shock of it all. I was pretty stressed about this. ) This was a huge splurge for me, but maybe the universe is sending me a message. I will not be reordering.

Delights with purchase! I live

Delights with purchase! I live in the US, children in Canada. Shopping was easy online, a great sale price was available, and no delivery charge. Delivery was quick and I was informed with tracking & delivery info all along the way.

Why didn’t I buy this years ago?

I wish I had bought this Dutch oven first. Cleans like a dream, stove to oven with no issue at all. The weight was a big factor in my decision to purchase. I had a staub Dutch oven that was just too heavy to lift. This is heavy, but about 6 pounds lighter than my old staub Dutch oven and far easier to clean. From this Dutch oven’s performance, I am looking at smaller Dutch ovens to handle daily cooking (only my husband and I). Love this and wish I had purchased years ago. You cannot go wrong with this Le Crueset Dutch oven.

BEWARE

I recently purchased a brand new Le Creuset pot to go on our new induction stove. Despite the fact that the Le Creuset website clearly states that their enameled pots can be used on induction, the pot has scratched the glass top of our brand new stove HORRIBLY. Beware when using these products on a glass cook surface.

Very large great pot, Terrible WS Shipping/Packing

The pot is wonderful. Very big. Nice weight, beautiful finish. The yellow is much nicer in person. Full cooking surface for a wide range of foods. Will be a nice addition to our collection.

not the Le Creuset quality I've come to expect

Love the size of this, but was disappointed in the quality. The first one I got in Sea Salt color got rust spots along the edges after one use. After washing, I even made sure to leave the lid off for several days to allow it to dry. Took it back and ordered a replacement, but they no longer had the color I wanted; first world problem, I know, but when paying $200+ for a pot, I want it to be one that I love. Replacement did arrive speedily and after washing and drying, I oiled the edges so I wouldnt have another rust situation.

I love to cook. It’s a hobby of mine. Currently I am all about good kitchen items that have multiple uses. Le Creuset is the top of the line. This Dutch oven is my first purchase and I’m so glad I finally decided to buy. It has multiple uses; as it can be used on stove and oven and you can serve straight from kitchen to table. I made a pot of soup and my goodness it was the best batch I have ever made and that’s largely due to the pot because of the even heat distribution and it is so easy to clean. I will slowly but surely be adding to my collection as they are pricey but definitely worth it as they come with a life time warranty!

Meets ALL my expectations and then some!!

The best thing about my Le Creuset Dutch Oven in Nutmeg is it is GORGEOUS!! The finish is warm with lovely modern cool tones. Of course the main reason I purchased this piece is for the functionality. You certainly get what you pay for. The enamel finish cleans up beautifully and the cast iron distributes the heat evenly throughout the cooking process, retaining heat perfectly throughout. The weight is solid but not so heavy that it makes using/cleaning it a chore. In fact, this is the first piece I reach for with most my dishes!! So happy with my purchase, and already planning on purchasing the braiser as soon as it goes on sale! Thank you, Sur La Table for the great purchase and the excellent customer service!!

I received a 7 quart Le Creuset Round French Oven in the Marseille (blue) color over a decade ago as a Christmas present from my husband. It replaced a well-used 5 quart Lodge dutch oven with cracking and chipping enamel. Back then this piece cost over $350. I shudder to think what it costs now. This Le Creuset Dutch Oven is very large which means that it is pretty heavy when it is full. That is definitely something to keep in mind. I thought that I wanted to go bigger but I am very glad that I did not. Both the pot and lid are stovetop, oven, and dishwasher safe though the rubber handle on the top of the lid is safe only up to 350 F. I've used this cooking vessel a couple of times a week for years now and it is still in just as great shape as it was the day I received it. I use this French (aka Dutch) Oven for soups, stews, pot roast, chili, Sunday gravy, etc. It is an absolute workhorse that holds heat well and distributes it evenly. The only thing that I do not use it for is for baking bread. I suspect that is what caused the enamel to chip and crack on the Lodge dutch oven that I had. I use a plain (and much less expensive) unenameled cast iron Lodge round oven for that purpose. The Le Creuset model is also pretty enough to put directly on the table to allow others to serve themselves. I also keep it out on the stovetop when it is clean and not in use because, well, it is gorgeous and also to help save space in the cabinets. I highly recommend it. It is expensive but it will last a lifetime and beyond.
