Broke in 4 months

Only a couple months of LIGHT usage - it won’t snap on anymore and the wheels just spin. Except for the wheels the whole thing is plastic. Tossing an buying an all metal one.

DO NOT BUY

If I could give this negative stars, I would. This is the worst can opener I’ve ever used in my life. It is my 13th reason. The bane of my existence. Almost $20 for something that doesn’t even grip onto the can and pops off every twist???? Should refund every single person who was unfortunate enough to come across this crap product. Going in the garbage where it belongs.

Doesn’t work at all

Not sure about the positive reviews, maybe I purchased a defective can opener. It does not work at all. Doesn’t cut or even actually pierce the can lid. It does LOOK like a can opener so one star for that I guess.

Trash. Only buy for someone you hate

Officially the worst can opener, ever. How did you create such a terrible product?

Terrible

The absolute worst can opener. It doesn’t work at all. Doesn’t grip the can properly and thus doesn’t rotate to open the can. Super frustrating especially for the price

Effortless can opening with OXO

Highly recommend this can opener! Easy to use with a great grip. No need to squeeze or apply pressure, just turn the handle to effortlessly open cans. The magnet holds lid for easy disposal. Hope it lasts long time!

[Rewarded Review] Lock & Go can opener

Excellent can opener! Works effortlessly! Love the locking feature too.

Junk

For the cost, this should work easily and immaculately, BUT. It only lasted a short time, before the “grip” no longer snaps on to the can to open. Which renders them useless. Back to the trusty $3 pair that’s far outlasted this crap.

Good dishwasher safe can opener

I had looked for a long time for a dishwasher safe can opener that worked well, and this is the best I have found. It is easy to attach to the can and to use all around the can. No rust yet. I am thinking about buying another one for a spare.

Disappointing

Unfortunately, this was a $17 disappointment. It is difficult to use and causes very sharp edges. My 12 year old had no problem using our last can opener but can't work this one.

This can opener is really bad at opening cans

Half the time it derails from the can. I wish I could say it’s from operator error, but it’s just really bad at what it’s supposed to do. You can’t even squeeze the handles harder to make it work, it actively works against you at that point. I gave it several chances because I’ve been too lazy to get another one, but I’ve reached my limit.

Almost meh.

When it works it’s fine - when it doesn’t, it’s absolutely awful. Gripper wheel will slip and the cutting wheel will skip around on the can top resulting in a perforated cut. We decided to replace with a different brand after its latest bout of intransigence.

Complete Trash

Does not lock on to can properly. Falls off. Requires multiple adjustments for every 1/2 " of opening. It's hard to imagine a more poorly executed product.

Terrible

Do not buy! Terrible execution. It will not hold tight on the can to keep constant pressure. It falls off while cutting can. Highly disappointed. It’s compact but does not work. Only had it for 6 months and have to get a new one as it’s so frustrating.

First Class Can Opener

This can opener is simply brilliant. Hardly any effort is needed to use it plus it's safe. I really don't know how I managed before.

Do not buy

This is the worst can opener I’ve ever had. You would get better value at the dollar store. So hard to lock on and keep opening. Might open a 1 inch section and then it slips off. Do not buy.

Great value

This can opener is very efficient. It's a little difficult to use the first time but easy to adjust. I have only one concern. I wish it opened the lid from the outside instead of in. It will eventually harbor bacteria.

Do not buy, not reliable, poor design

It worked a couple times since I bought it 4-5 months ago, though was hard to start and lock. I am not very strong and figured that was the problem. Mostly used my electric can opener instead. Then I went to use this oxo opener today and it would only open about a half inch at a time before the metal cutting gears would slip out of the grove and open nothing at all! I had to restart it like 10 times to open a can of soup. Ridiculous. I am ordering the regular oxo can opener version without the lock instead.

Waste of money

I’d give it zero stars if I could. Worse $17 I’ve ever spent. I struggle with this thing all the time. It’s frustrating. I want my money back. 😒

... got it ...

finally figured it out... it was getting to be a joke,,, sometimes it would work like a smooth gliding paper plane, and other times like a broken raw egg... but i do believe it was meant to be held at a very slight angle inwards towards the center of the cans' diameter, and there you go. it only took me 1 1/2 years to figure that out. either that was the case, or it just got really wobbly after a while, and now that is the only way it WILL work ??? who knows,,, but i would try another style of oxo manual openers, just to be on the safe side. a cheaper one at that.
