Run away
Trim only covers 1/4 inch past the installation hole, so it must be very precise, and there is not even a cut guide. Retaining clips are too strong and destroy sheet rock if you try to ever remove the unit, such as after a test fit. Hole must be cut much larger than comparable lights, forever destroying your ceiling and forcing you to stare at these nightmares forever.
60% Approval
I purchased 12 units (6 double packs). I couldn’t set the right color on 3 of them; they were stuck at 5000K despite my attempts. One bulb barely glowed, and one bulb was scratched. So, only 7 out of 12 units were as expected, which is roughly 60%. I haven’t encountered such problems with other brands I’ve bought before. However, beside that, I’m happy with how the working units are performing.
[Rewarded Review] The downlight for any application
Fantastic versatile product.
[Rewarded Review] Philips PLC 11.5-Watt (60-Watt) 5/6 in. LED Downlight
This Philips PLC 11.5-Watt (60-Watt) 5/6 in. LED Downlight is so easy to install, the hardest part was making the round hole in the sheetrock - and that is not that hard. The second hardest part was reading the dimensions for cutting that hole. Why do they print instructions so tiny? It was easier to read my ruler.
[Rewarded Review] Versatile lighting
this light is a great way to add recessed lighting without the hassle of adding a can style housing. if you can fish a wire to the location you want light you can add this light. the light itself is bright and there is a switch on the wiring box that allows you to change the light color. the light pops into place with spring loaded ears and can be taken back down to change the light color. This light makes it easy to add lights and the connectors have three additional connections for wire. Having installed recessed lighting in the past one of the problems is if the drywall installer bumps the can you end up with the lights off center with these you simply need to leave the wire in the ceiling and after the drywall is up add the light at which time it can be perfectly centered
[Rewarded Review] Impressive Quality, Easy Installation and a Dimmable Brightness
These downlights are easy to install and to operate with a dimmer. The lamp by itself is only 7/8" high so it fits easily in tight spaces. The power supply case is bigger at 1 3/8" high and 2 3/8" wide and it is pre-punched for easy rafter mounting. I chose the 4000K out of the 5 preset color temperatures for easy reading and color accuracy. They are Energy Star rated for efficiency and they should last at least 22 years at 1000 Lumens brightness. And yes, these lights are bright. I have them installed into a 7' ceiling and dim them to about half brightness. That provides all the light that I need for a 12' X 12' space. They really respond well to my dimmer switch, and I appreciate that the two lights are matched in brightness. I installed mine into adjustable metal fixtures that I got at my local Home Depot.
[Rewarded Review] Great Fixtures
Putting new light fixtures in my garage, so went with new LED fixtures to reduce my electricity consumption yet give me the light I wanted to continue with projects in the garage. In this case I replaced outdated fixtures so the electrical hook-up was already there. Simple hand tools are required for installation. The fixture is made of high quality materials with a great white finish that blends well with the garage ceiling.
[Rewarded Review] Great light with no recessed can needed
This pair of LED downlights from Philips are very slim for multiple installation applications. Before final installation, I was able, via a slide switch on the side of the junction box, to vary the color temperature range from 2700K to 5000K in five increments.
[Rewarded Review] Great light option to replace old can lights
Quality light by Philips that you can use to easily replace any of your 6” old can lights. The light comes with the light that easily clips to your drywall ceiling and comes with the junction box to connect to your existing wiring. The junction box uses wagu connectors to connect to the existing wiring and then has a simple plug connection for the light.
