I love the roo singles. They are the perfect size for me to hang in the backyard under the pines or pack and take on the trail for a nice break during a hike. The fabric is light weight yet very strong and durable not to mention comfortable.
Roo hammock and stand
I love these lightweight Roo hammocks. I have set mine up in my gazebo and I feel fully supported. The stand is very easy to put together and take down, and the shorter bar option to make it into a chair is genius. It’s well worth it to buy the protector sleeve to minimize sun damage, if you are like me and don’t take it down very frequently!
Easy to set up, super comfortable
Compact, it takes a minute to hang, it's very comfortable.
Absolutely great hammock
This is my 2nd Roo - the first one lasted about 2.000 nights. It's absolutely amazing when it comes to quality and comfort. WIth the straps it's easy and fast to setup and the included pack sack helps to keep the space used in the backpack small. I would definitely buy one again!
Campsite necessity!
I have said something similar in other Kammok product reviews because it keeps being true; I have to do my best to keep my kids from arguing over whose turn it is in the hammock. So we have decided to just get one for everyone! These hammocks are comfortable, easy to set up and easy to pack away, even if you don’t think you need one, they are so light and compact that you could pack it anyway without noticing the extra weight.
Roo Single Rocks!
I’ve only slept once in this hammock so far, but I’m sold. I bought a Bobcat way back when it was a kickstarter. I added a puffin as well. Both those pieces of gear are still in my pack today, so when a hammock failed on me, I decided to replace it with a Roo single.
AWESOME CUSTOMER SEEVICE!
First and Foremost, I would like to thank Kassidy for her outstanding customer service and support. I ordered a Roo Single hammock and when it arrived I was so excited to get strapped up to a tree and start relaxing and enjoying the weather. I noticed the tag had someone’s initials. I also found out by researching the Kammok website that they do sale refurbished products, so I ended up with a used hammock. I quickly emailed Kammok and uploaded the photos and Kassidy promptly replied with we got you! We are putting a new hammock in the mail toady with a return label and apologized for the error. I understand, we are human and make mistakes. I wasn’t upset and I just waited for my new hammock to arrive. This company is awesome! They have great products and fantastic customer service. I will definitely be returning to purchase other items in the near future. I’ll be posting photos of my new hammock later next week after our camping trip in the Olympic mountains.
4 years later and I still love this Hammock
Bought my first Kammok Hammock in 2019 and was hooked. Whether hung between trees or in my Swiftlet stand it has worked great. Brak a blanket on the cooler days and take a nap. Kammok has me as a customer for life. Thanks for all the great products.
A tiny and light hammock that can still hold a lot.
I have my main hammock that I use to camp, which is a Roo Double, but I wanted a smaller hammock to put my gear in. I know they make the Joey for this purpose, but my pack is pretty large and I often have a bunch of things I want to keep off the ground at night. So I decided to get this little hammock. Turns out, I ended up using this just as much as my double, but not how I expected. This hammock ends up being my go-to for around the house and in the yard, as a rest spot when I go out hiking, and even a cozy seat when I go to the drive-in. It's so small and light I can take it almost anywhere, but it holds as much weight as my roo double hammock. I still like sleeping in the larger one, but man this is a great thing to have in your pocket or day bag.
Roo Single. A disappointment.
I purchased a roo single at Academy Sports. I have had my eye on a Kammok for a few months now. Saw one on discount so I pulled the proverbial trigger and bought it.
Possibilities
Purchased a Roo Single. Im 5 10 200lbs and I find the roo single a bit to small and tight. Id return it from where I purchased it to return it for the Double but as it was bought as discontinued sale item there are no returns. This is a not a knock on the quality of the product this is more for educational purposes for others debating between a single ir double roo.
Perfect for backpacking
My good friend introduced me to backpacking, and I have taken their recommendation on all my gear aside from this hammock. They had never heard of kammok and didn't know anyone that did. He ended up sending me a similar hammock link a bit cheaper, and I bought both. THIS HAMMOCK IS AMAZING. It is so so so light weight, insanely strong, easy to clean, durable enough where I don't freakout when my dog climbs on it with his nails, and big enough for me to bring a blanket or pillow into it with me. I ended up returning the other hammock and keeping this one. My friend is buying one also, he's obsessed too.
Strong, comfortable
My planned camping getaway was cancelled as inclement weather forced me indoors. Fortunately, I could still test my new hammock - a bannister and a hook in the ceiling conveniently located allowed me to hang a Roo. It was up and ready in no time.
mostly comfy but stretches out with regular use
I bought the Roo close to a year ago to go with the Swiftlet stand, which is amazing and totally worth buying. I have it in my living room and spend on average about 10-12 hours a week in the hammock, and unfortunately it has stretched in awkward ways. Recently I noticed that the middle/bottom is sagging a lot more than it used to, so I tightened up the stand one notch, and it raised the lowest part of the hammock up to the level that it used to be at when I first received it. However, the sides have stretched minimally if at all, so raising the hammock up has created a lot of tension at the edges (I don't think I could tighten the stand another hole because the fabric at the edges is completely taught) and that makes it a little uncomfortable to lay in. Since the fabric does stretch, I'm hoping that the sides will eventually loosen up a bit to match the middle (and that the middle won't stretch out any more!). I still enjoy laying in it but it isn't the best option for long term/extensive use if you're looking for something that completely retains its original shape.
Great Little Hammock!
I've had this awesome hammock (previously called "the Kammok Wallaby") for about 1 1/2 years now, and have used it on several backpacking and a couple of kayaking trips, and some car-camping outings. I've slept in it a couple of nights, but mostly I'm just using it for lounging around in, and to replace my backpacking chair. Biggest problem I find is that once I'm in it, it takes some pretty serious motivation to get me up and out of it again, and then someone else usually occupies it within seconds!
From Eno to Kammok; amazing build quality.
From Eno to Kammok; amazing build quality and comfort: Starting out as an amateur, I thought Eno was as good as is got. Well, that was until I decided to try the Kommok after returning my third defective Singlenest Hammock (tried DoubleNest as well) from poor stitching, which were brand new. An REI employee mentioned the ENOs aren't as good as they use to be and they've been having issues with quality control a lot it seems, so they recommend the Kammok Boy was I blown away. The Kammok was much smoother on my skin (I can sleep without clothes on in this, the Eno was very abrasive feeling leaving me to be in full-dress on hot/humid nights in Florida), lighter weight, much-much-much better build quality/stitching at stress points, rip-stop (a little less fear/concern tearing through the hammock while asleep due to punctures/cuts), better anchoring/carabiner straps (less likely to come undone and less bulky than Eno Single/Double-nest), a lifetime warranty vs Eno's two year... the wallaby is shorter and not as wide as the Eno Singlenest, but that's actually a good thing as the Eno I felt was too much fabric and would swallow me, block the breeze (wind) and would flop on me. I don't recommend the Wallaby for anyone over 5'10". If fits me just right at about 5'9" with some room to wiggle and stretch/move around. I hope Kammok continues to focus on a solid build quality (stitching/defects)... if they continue to do that and guarantee their products, I'll keep my confidence and business with them as a customer for life. Now if only they'd design a compatible stand similar to my ENO Solopod, which is awesome might I add.
Excellent trail hammock
Coming from the more spacious ENO Double-Nest, the Wallaby was very different. While the ENO boasted space and comfort, the Wallaby exhibited amazing packability, top-of-the-line durability, amazingly comfortable fabric for a hammock, and a vibrant color (seriously... there is no way you can lose this thing in the woods!). Although the extra space was nice in the ENO, the Wallaby will be great as a trail hammock during backpacking trips. It is very compact when packed into its stuff-sack and weighs next to nothing; both of these features are very important when it comes to how much stuff I can jam into my pack. There will be considerable use in this hammock on the trail, but if you are looking for something that is spacious, this is not the right choice. I am 5'10'' and 150 lbs and this hammock is perfect for me; however, if you were trying to fit two people into it... yikes... When it comes to space and comfort for more than one, the Kammok Roo is definitely a better option. Overall, a very good hammock, and for the price an amazing deal, especially considering the warranty! Plus, all the colors are really dope!
