No pause button!!
I have used a Simplice kitchen faucet since 2010. I recently replaced it with the newest Kohler Simplice. I was surprised to find the "pause" button has been replaced with a "boost" feature that temporarily increases water flow. The pause button was extremely useful for filling coffee makers or any counter appliance that needs water. The boost feature is of marginal use. Can one purchase a replacement head with the pause feature? I miss it daily.
Extend The Arch Of The Faucet
The functionality of the faucet could be improved if it was designed so that the arch of the faucet was extended a half of an inch or so. This would direct the stream of water to go directly into the drain area instead of hitting the bottom surface of the sink and splashing on the sides of the sink. Eliminating the splashing of water on the sides would help to eliminate wiping down the sides of the sink after each use.
Much shorter hose
It is NOT 60 inches of usable hose starting at mouth if metal faucet. Yes, we can fill a pitcher right beside the sink and make many trips but that wasn't the function desired. The black fabric braiding on the pull out hose will also get dirty and be harder to clean food off it. Just things to know. It is superior to the Moen regular style we replaced.
Nice Looking Faucet
I have used this Kohler faucet in several kitchens. I like the clean contemporary design which is easy to keep clean and maintain. I purchased this in matt black and was concerned that finger prints would show, but the finish always looks good. It’s also available at a good price point.
Horrible!!! Do not purchase. It was very clearly previously owned. Fingers prints and grease all over the box, the faucet and the instructions. Disgusting. Also, the various pieces on the faucet don’t match. It’s like a whole bunch of pieces were put together to make a pretend Kohler faucet. I couldn’t return fast enough.
Lacks Quality
I previously purchased 2 of these for daughter's former homes (over a decade ago). Loved so much I bought 1 for rental redo. Quality has really gone down. Easy to install and better than the cheapest of faucets, but wish I had spent more and purchased another. The pull down sprayer doesn't always stay up either.
The faucet is beautiful. I have not yet installed it, but can honestly say that it is packaged well, the chrome is clear and even. It is a sturdy looking and feeling appliance. I would also say that it comes with both the single set or the cover plate options for installation. I am sure it will be a great addition to my kitchen.
Great service and beautiful faucet!
I received this faucet less than 24 hours after ordering. Amazing service! My husband and I were able to install ourselves in about 45 min (and this was our first time ever installing a faucet, so beginner level). We thought it was very easy! We love the performance and look. Would highly recommend.
Easy to install. My only issue is that when pulling out the faucet nozzle, it keeps getting stuck even though there's nothing obstructing the hose, so I have to keep going underneath the sink to pull down the hose so the nozzle goes back into the faucet neck. Other than that, the faucet is nice and handle works smoothly.
Easy to install and elegant looking
Very good faucet. Decent instructions too. Very easy to install and parts are good quality. Function is very good too. I installed it for a friend and now I want to upgrade my own!
I enjoyed this faucet for just less than a year and a half. The hot water pressure in the faucet slowed to a trickle recently. We took it apart and have been unable to find a replacement valve. It doesn’t seem to exist anywhere even on Kohler’s website. Very disappointed!!
The sprayer head was faulty out of the box (Kohler replaced it for free). New one works fine but has a very narrow stream of water. Do not like that spray head cannot be disassembled to allow for maintenance or that sprayer does not turn spray mode off automatically. At least it was easily installed and does not leak. Have had it for about one month.
What a great faucet! So easy to use. My husband is left-handed; I am right-handed, so we had the plumber place the lever not left or right -- but in the middle in front of the faucet. He said, no one does that, but OK. It worked out perfectly and we love it. Thanks.
Pretty but not very functional
I always thought Kohler was a good company, but I'm disappointed with this faucet. The spray function is not adjustable, and it sprays all over, which is annoying. Also, it makes a lot of noise.
It looks and works great. We had it installed through Home Depot. The plumber had to adjust the lever a little because it would have hit the existing soap pump but it’s not noticeable. Just wish the sprayer shape could be adjusted. It comes out in a flat spray. A round spray would be better or good to have both.
Simplice single handle faucet
Kohler products have dramatically been reduced in quality. Outsourced to Mexico. Once a reliable name, now just a big box store business model with low quality components. The faucet hose for pull out handle is a thin walled pvc that failed within less than a year. Slip collar on connection to replace it did not release hose and had to pay a plumber to cut it out and remove faucet. Manual was inaccurate, showing another type of slip fitting. Leaked all over and ruined our cabinet. Same experience with a tub we bought that delaminated on bottom. I would not purchase Kohler products again.
Leaking
I purchased this faucet from Home Depot in June of 2018. I guess I'm lucky because I had no issues until May of 2023. That's when it started leaking from the handle. Kohler did send me the parts I needed for free, but I had to pay a plumber to fix it. Maybe 6 weeks or so ago, my spray head was not putting out water full force. I cleaned what I could, but couldn't remove the screen in the spray head, so Kohler sent me a new one. Now, I noticed a leak- a slow drip coming from the sprayer. It also leaks after I use the sprayer. I removed the sprayer head- and find that it is leaking from the end of the hose that connects to the sprayer. I will again be contacting Kohler, and will have to again hire a plumber. I guess I should feel lucky that I didn't start having problems till the faucet was almost 5 years old. I expected it to last a lot longer! I am going to end up paying more for the plumber than I payed for the faucet! I am not sure what brand I'd buy to replace this one, if I opt not to hire the plumber. I am dissapointed in Kohler.
I purchased the Kholer Simplice faucet in stainless steel. I bought the basic model, not the touch less. It has 3 spray patterns, Basic, Basic with "Boost"(really doesnt make a difference in stream speed/quality), and Spray...which comes out in a blade pattern, not circular. The Spray function is pretty strong and the stream is very wide. Water often splashes outside of the sink. I have never done any plumbing before and was able to easily install this faucet on my own. The faucet is beautiful, heavy, smooth movement at the handle and rotation/pivot point of the main body, and feels like quality. However, the button to toggle between Basic spray and Stream spray feels cheap as does the "Boost" button. This seems to be the standard with most new faucets as I looked at many others from comparative brands like Moen and Delta and all seemd to have the same cheap plastic buttons. Also, the water pressure is weaker than the faucet I replaced. Despite these few quibbles, I think the faucet is pretty decent. I've only had it for two weeks so time will tell. I was able to purchase the faucet at a significant sale price. If I had paid full price, I would have been more disappointed. 10/10 for installation and style. 7/10 for function.
Sprayer defective
Got it installed only to discover that the sprayer didn’t pull out or retract smoothly. Had to pull hard and push it back into place. Took entire faucet back out to check for bunching of hoses and the sprayer hose still did not pull out smoothly. Had to pull very hard. Don’t recommend.
Instructions and drawing are inaccurate
Simplice K-596-VS installed. Hose leaking at spray head with < 2 yrs use. Schematic drawing did not match installation; shows 1st gen hose installation w/"collet" connection w/white plastic clip difficult to remove. Kohler changed that connection, but drawing doesn't reflect current faucet connection for hose. Black, plastic connector is quick-connect device, but Kohler Maintenance Series doesn't tell how to separate it. New quick-connect device (similar to Kraus device) connects to output flow from faucet cartridge, & replacement hose s/b threaded hose to screw into other end of the quick-connect device. Earlier models used copper tubing.
