Water Leak Caused Black Mold
As like many others have mentioned, this valve has been leaking for a while. We have now noticed water damage behind the tile and into the closet behind the shower, causing water damage and black mold, so on top of the need to get a new value we have got to rip out and repair drywall and baseboard. Do not buy this cheaply made but expensive product as it has cheap plastic parts that caused the problem.
I think the company should offer the product with the shorter pipe with the basic assembly. Spending an extra $60 for the shorter pipe was an unexpected expense.
