Ripoff for the extra $360 over conventional tub!
Total Ripoff for the extra $360 over conventional tub. Interior of tub floats 6" above the ground when installed whereas conventional tub actually sits on the ground for true support. The "deep soaking" area (supposed to be 13+") is measured at the drain area where feet are and where back rests only measures 11" so not truly any good for soaking a bad back. Guess this is why there were no pics available online for the unit. Do not waste your money.
[Rewarded Review] Nice Big Tub
We wanted a tub that was not a stand-alone tub. It is much larger than our previous tub. It is bright white, nice and large, and looks great.
Etches badly/stains
Do not buy anything americast! The quality is horrible! Stains and losses finish. We had this tub a year and not only was it horribly stained, hard to clean (since you can only use a sponge and dish soap) but also has a ring on top from a shampoo bottle. Ridiculous. And don’t bother contacting the company. They don’t care! And will only blame you for not cleaning it right. Complete junk

SO... What is this product anyway??
The headline text and detailed description of this tub says it is AMERICAST. But the Specifications say it is ENAMELED STEEL. So why would anyone order something when HD describes TWO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT PRODUCTS??
dimensions are incorrect
In reviewing the specifications (dimensions) I noted an inconsistency between the home depot web information and the American Standard web information. Home Depot information was incorrect. Ther tub is actually 17 1/2 high. The tub drain connection was different than any other I had experienced. If I had not had access to the bottom of the tub after the tub was put into place, (and the tub drain installed) I do not see how I could have installed it.
