This is a very nice looking fan. The installation is a bit difficult because the motor assembly is longer than wider leaving little room for manipulation. If you are planning on extending the neck, installation may be a little easier. With the materials provided, this fan hangs 16.5" from the ceiling. The blades are near the bottom as well. Because the blades are long and low, I wouldn't recommend using this fan on a ceiling lower than 10'. The remote that comes with the fan is a great feature for us since the power switch placement in our home is awkward. Now we can just use the remote in a convenient place.

A rock star! The dark chrome is elegant coupled with the aircraft-like design of the motor makes this one very cool fan, and very high quality! I installed it in my daughter's room in an hour, and she is absolutely thrilled. While the fan only has three wing blades, it still provides more air movement than what we have come to expect from our other five-bladed fans. There are no pull cords or controls on the fan itself, everything is run through the remote control. While assembling the fan, you immediately notice that it is higher quality, noticeably heavier, and the fan blades actually mount through the fan motor itself. It is beautiful and efficient. The light is basically just a LED light, bright enough to flood a good-sized room. A bonus is the light cover twists on: No screws to remove to access the light. The remote does allow for light dimming, speed adjustment and the changing of direction for the fan blades. The only real negative is that the instructions were a little brief on the assembly. It was basically one page and two very small images. Another 2 pages detail how to put a battery in the remote, and another page is how to mount the remote. I had just installed another ceiling fan in another room last weekend, so it was easier for me, just odd that the biggest part of the job didn't have more step-by-step illustrations. I still had it up quickly, and I don't think they left anything out. Overall, a great high quality and stylish fan.

The dark chrome finish will add a modern look to your decor. The fan only has three blades but still provides excellent air circulation. Even on the highest setting, the fan is very quiet. The medium setting works fine for us. The light is bright enough to light up a room. The fan is 18 inches tall when assembled so your ceiling should be at least 8 feet.

Progress Lighting Bixby 60 in. Black Chrome Ceiling Fan P250038-231-30 has 3 wing-like blades. It's beautiful, not typical. Striking comes to mind. I have 3 shots in my photos of the metal flake Lucite (acrylic) blades to try and give you the same impression I got. The shape of the motor reminds me of an airplane wing engine and the blades pass through. Look at the bottom of the motor to see what I mean. I doubt my impression was what they were going for. The black chrome reminds me of my black stainless steel refrigerator and I really love that too. Progress has been a favorite of mine for many years and their high quality has not changed. This fan is very well made and simple to install. The integrated 3000k LED light is covered by a flat opal glass screw on cover. Dimmable. Remote w/reverse. Indoor or outdoor but covered (UL damp).
