The specifications say that this light is hung by a downrod. That is not true. There is no downrod and this light hangs only by a plastic covered wire. It swings in the wind and my electrician would not hang it near the house for fear of breaking the window. I don't know who would want an outdoor light that swings in the wind unless you had an enclosed porch.

Size is wrong on the website

I would give it zero stars if I could. The light is a different size than the specification page on the website. There is not a light size that matches the spec sheet. Will be returning.

Nice Style

If you like older style lighting, this light reminds me of lantern lights portrayed in older movies. I really like the style of this light and it goes well with my 1880 farmhouse. There is some weight to this light, and I would recommend attaching it to something solid. The clear crystal glass looks like the old leaded glass that has air bubbles in it to appear antique.

This is an attractive-looking durable, high quality exterior lighting fixture.

This review is for the Home Depot Home Decorators Collection, 22-inch high, Brimfield Exterior Wall Lantern. This fixture was received in well-designed packaging, it arriving in great condition despite having been shipped half way across the country. The only damage noticed was abrasion and denting of the exterior of the corrugated paper board carton. This is a handsome lighting fixture with clear seedy glass and aged iron paint finish. This fixture accommodates installation of 3 candelabra-base type bulbs, either LED or 60 watt incandescent type. It is made of die cast, corrosion-resistant painted metal except for the glass, fasteners, electrical parts, the interior candelabra support metal and components in the supplied installation kit. This lantern comes in four sizes. I have four of the 18-inch versions of this product installed flanking our garage door and front door. The Brimfield collection includes similarly styled Exterior Post Lanterns, two of which I have installed on half walls at the front of our home and its attached and garage. These Brimfield Post Lanterns are connected to our landscape lighting system and use 12-volt LED bulbs that are available with candelabra bases. I have delayed installation of this 22-inch high lantern version of this Brimfield product, it obtained for lighting the home exit area to our inground outdoor pool where its imposing size will really show it off. Its installation has been delayed due to the fact that the siding and air barrier for the entire rear of our home have been removed as part of delayed contract work to replace all of the siding on our home. Under the circumstances, this review is based on our experience with otherwise nearly identical versions of this product that are installed and have been in service on our home for more than a year. I tested the electrical integrity of this new product by temporarily wiring it to an indoor outlet, it functioning as expected. We reside in WI where weathering and extremes in temperature are the norm. The finish and fixtures in this Brimfield Decorators Collection that are constructed of the same materials have held up well to our weather extremes, including occasional high winds, ice, snow and two hailstorm events. The product has a limited 5-year warranty. I am very pleased with its appearance, high quality and durability.

A large light fixture

I was very impressed with the size of this outdoor light fixture. It is not often that I have seen a light fixture of this scale. I know it says right in the description that it is 22 inches, but I was still pleasantly surprised. The quality appears to be high. The beaded glass is very nice, it should allow an extended time between cleanings as opposed to a clear glass. I like that the aged iron finish has rustic blemishes designed into it. It gives off an old world charm.
