Buyer beware

Awful filters. Don’t work. Do not buy. Complete waste of money, might spend 3 days trying to filter water. I hope you like the taste of your tap water, because you won’t be able to have any filtered water with these filters

I'm glad they have them. I think they work well.

I recently started using the PUR PLUS Water Pitcher Replacement Filters with Lead Reduction, and I am very impressed with their performance. Here are some key points:

All 3 filter stopped working after 3 weeks

This filter is a piece of junk. It doesn't work after 3 weeks. Tried all three filters from the package, and nothing changed. Be aware if you have a packet with Oct 31 manufacturing date because I am sure that this whole batch is junk. Important to mention that I was using filter only for 1 person use. You keep water for the whole day..almost 20 plus hours and it will filter only few cups.

Very pricey

It's a LOT more expensive than the regular filters and these are super slow! The regular filters are fast. But maybe that means they're better filters? The water tasted much better after I changed the filter. Noticeable difference from the nasty FL tap water. Will I buy them again? Maybe, but maybe not. I'm buying a water ppm tool that will tell me how well this filter is actually working at removing contamination compared to tap. If the numbers are good enough I might spend the $ on these. If not, back to the cheaper regular filters

There are back particles coming out of it into my wster. Is it safe to use or should i return it?

Cuz they work. Water is so bad tasting now a days you must purify it. Pur plus is the best for that

Pur Water filter refills

I always buy these refills online..so much cheaper, however after opening and trying two of them it took FOREVER for the water pitcher to drain through..i mean 3 hrs??! I finally tried the last one (theres 3 to a box) and that one worked, but i have to return the other two! Ridiculous!

Water doesn't filter through new filters

These do a great job of cleaning the water when they actually filter it. They used to be fantastic filters. I think I’ve used these lead-filtering ones for close to a decade. The last package seemed to need to be changed faster to keep water going through…fine…I’ll do that for safety. But the current package’s first filter worked (albeit a bit slowly)…for a day…then stopped. As in, I filled the pitcher around midnight last night and nothing had gone through by 9am. On a 2-day old filter. I opened it on Halloween. I’ve done the shaking and resoaking, etc. (which should NOT have to be done each day) and…nothing. It’s already a big waste of money if one doesn’t work, but if the other two in this 3-pack behave similarly, I’ll return them to Target as defective (they are), and find a new brand of water filter to switch to. There’s something up with Pur’s quality control these days, because these filters used to be GREAT and would work reliably for 2-3 months without issue.

Starts choking uo after 6 gallons or so

I've read how these can be shaken to loosen any debris that might clog things up, but now after maybe 15 gallons, it's waaay too slow, and nothing can seem to alleviate this.

Work great for big container! We fill an extra gallon jug to avoid constantly using the container— in the hopes that impacts the life of a filter. Rarely the filter seems to “jam”(?) so we take it out, shake it in the sink, flush it, and then it works. [btw, noticed they took “lead reduction” off the packaging]

Effective filtering of tap water

It does a great job filtering out off-tastes and harmful chemicals, including lead, from tap water. However, you need to be patient and allow time for all the water to run through, especially as it reaches the end of its useful life.

It's OK it’s OK

Great for the most part, have been using many yrs. At times, filter's do come defective loose charcoal and or condensation in package. Company says this is normal but when that occurs those filters have loose charcoal and they do not last.
