Good product , a bit pricey for cork

As described, but arrived late.

The item arrived as described. Made in Portugal, which is a good thing bc Portugal is supposed to have the best cork in the world. 1/2 inch is quite good for sound proofing. Be careful, the boxes are VERY HEAVY. Take them apart and bring small packets inside your home; do not attempt to carry the boxes (even with two people). Unfortunately the item was late about 3 weeks after the scheduled date.

Wood sawdust rather than genuine cork underlay?

The Home Depot 12mm cork underlay is not true cork underlay. The box is extremely heavy and requires two people to load it into our car. Real cork should not be this heavy; it should be lightweight. This product appears to be made from wood sawdust rather than genuine cork, which is why it's so cheap.

Great product. Easy to install. Inexpensive. Don’t have anything but good things to say about this. If you’re looking for a basement Underlayment for vinyl or carpet, this works like a charm. Makes the floor less cold, less hard on the feet, and is hydrophobic

Softer to walk on and quieter for the room downstairs, unless the kids blast their stero then it muffles it but you can still hear itjust softer ha

The extra thickness is significant. I laid it loose over concrete leveling compound over plywood ...

The extra thickness is significant. I laid it loose over concrete leveling compound over plywood floors that was from around 1978 and put laminate flooring in on top. Directions weren't clear 100% but on second main room I called and was told I could open plastic wrappers that the sheets were packed in the days before installation. The panels shrank probably 1/16th to 1/8th in each dimension leaving cracks between sheets in the smaller room i put them dow as i unwrapped them. I doubt that tiny air space will have any effect on noise reduction as it is the small air pockets isolated from each other that is the real principle of noise reduction i believe

Excellent for our needs

The only problem I have because how expensive it is is that they force you to buy a whole new box which was over 300 dollars. We only used 3 sheets out of the box and are stuck with the rest. In this day and age when our governments are taxing us to death we can’t afford to have expensive paperweights. They should sell them in boxes of 5 so as this does not happen.

So-so

Was delivered in prestine condition...although it was delayed a week, but that's not the reason for the 3 stars. I ordered this in hope of reducing the sound from my 2ns floor rental (I live on the 1st floor). Some serious shrinkage up to a 1/2 inch in some places and the boards also started cupping/curling. I already had it down so i just kept it in its place.

These are very good cork pieces for hardwood floor underlayment. However, the installation manual is missing. For perimeter isolation barrier , installation manual is a must thing.

Great product

I needed to raise a new engineered wood floor by half an inch to meet the hallway tile. This product worked great and preforms better than the 1/8 inch foam padding. It leveled out the low spots and feels like solid wood when walked on. It also has higher acoustical rating than foam. The sheets are easier to work with than the rolls. Cork is expensive but gives an overall better feel and sound than padding.
