So Quiet, It's Like It Isn't Even Running

After fixing my wiring issue, the fan controller came on. I had the app downloaded the fan connected in a matter of minutes. The Fan is super quiet. I only hear it if I put my ear close to the ceiling and everything else in the house off. I am very satisfied with this purchase. It has a auto feature for summer and winter, as well as on off for manual control. The app displays the temp of the attic also. Awesome features. I wish I could post pictures, but I don't want to climb in the attic again

Great product, but requires some electrical knowledge to use both speeds.

I wanted to be able to manually switch between two speeds from my second floor hallway below attic and have a separate on/off switch to shut down the branch circuit when desired. The manufacturer only provides instructions to wire at either low speed or high speed exclusively. Solution is to run a Romex from power to remote switch box(s) containing a 2 pole light switch to send power through thermostat and on to 3 pole light switch for sending power via 3 wire w/G to fan control.

Purchased two, installed one in our second story attic and the unfinished high ceiling garage. Major help during one of the hottest week of the year in Southern California. The one in the attic has reduced the amount of time the AC running. It’s a light hum while it’s in low speed, at high speed it’s louder but not as much as when the AC is going.

The package arrived damaged. The fan would not freely spin. Rather than delay the installation, I did some bending of the blades to return them to proper position. The fan is installed and works well.

Failed sensor and laughable app.

Week number 1 after install, unit failed to connect to app via Bluetooth, which is the only means of connection. Had to go to the attic again to reset fan w a power cycle. A day later the sensor (temp sensor I assume) failed and rendering the unit completely inoperable. See picture. The app looks like it’s designed by my underage kid which I was willing to look past. Now who’s going to pay for my time to take it all down and return it?! Thought USA made carried some weight but unit felt cheap.

Pleasantly Surprised

I have had 2 of these for 2 summers and just bought another for my garage which it is what prompted me to leave this review. I am shocked at how much of a difference these have made. I set them to turn on when my attic reaches 90 degrees and notice my AC runs far less often during the scorching California summers thereby reducing my bill dramatically.

Easy to install and works pretty well. It does have a programmable system, but it’s very simple— If you want to work at certain times, you may be better off with a timer. On Low speed it only costs a few cents per hour to operate even in California. Keep in mind this is a US Made quality product. I recommend it.

These do not work with the app or Google or Alexa

I bought 2 of these fans about 3 years ago. At the time, the retail packaging had the "Works with Google Home" logo on it and it said it worked via Wifi and Bluetooth.

I was hoping that the attic temperature would be lowered more. It went from just over 130 to 120 in the attic when the outside is in the 90's.. At lower outside temperatures the reduction is a bit better. It might be partially due to the flow being restricted thru the gable vents. It is nice to be able to see the attic temp on my phone.

QuietCool makes very high quality house fans. The 2 speed fan feature is a great feature that saves energy. This is an automatic feature that operates on its own. The best part about the fan is an app that shows up on your phone that shows current operating speed and attic temperature. The settings can be adjusted from the app so you don't have to go up in the attic.

Love these fans. Have two. One in the attic and one in the garage. I wish the app was a little stronger. I lose connection because they are in different sides of the house. I have to find a middle ground in the house to view them both. But that's about it. Works well. Well made. Easy to install. Pretty much screw in and plug in. That's it.

This attic fan is money well spent. I had my son install it he did not run into any issues or problems. Setting up Bluetooth is easy and simple. Once you download the app you can control the attic by Bluetooth on your phone. It also displays current attic temperature. We’re actually thinking of buying a second fan.

Easy to install. Had to hardwire. Internal wiring is a little “flimsy.” The fan is really quiet—way softer than the unit I replaced. I like the Bluetooth control a lot. The fitted nylon pieces that mount around the unit are also helpful in keeping precipitation out.

Poor Customer, App and Bluetooth Connectivity

The biggest issue is with the SMT version is a bit difficult to use. Poor service assistance. Called QuietCool as well as contacted them via the message site about 3 days back and have not yet heard back from them. The bluetooth does not seem to connect and hence is difficult to operate the fan. Piece of advice, please plug the fan and check it out before installation for any rattles and also connect it to your smart phone. It's a lot easier than trying to do so once it's installed in the attic. The App is also difficult to install, asks for Apple ID password (no facial recognition or just immediate load), why? What's so proprietary of the App? Was it difficult for them to offer WiFi control through the App instead of the bluetooth?

Connectivity is maddening

I would not recommend this fan. The smart control app fails to establish a connection with the fan about 95% of the time. The app shows that there's signal strength but it fails to connect after trying for 5 or 10 seconds. If I hadn't already installed it I would go with a simple old school fan that doesn't rely on Bluetooth to control it. I will probably remove it after the summer is over and put in something from another company.

Poor quality & non-existent customer service

The fan arrive with one mounting tab broken off and another’s rivets missing, After installation, the fan turned out to be wired incorrectly and was blowing air into the attic (It was installed correctly. There’s no switch to change blade direction like with a ceiling fan). I called customer service twice and had to leave messages which were not returned, Home Depot customer service was easy to work with to return the product.

Works Well

This attic fan is nice. It's runs pretty quiet. It communicates with your phone via Bluetooth. This means you have to be close to the fan to see it's current status on your phone. I can be on the opposite end of my 2,000 sq ft house from the fan w/o being in the attic, and have a good connection. That's pretty good, but a WiFi connection would be better. Attic temperature, humidity and fan run/stop status can be seen from the app. You can set when the fan runs based on temperature and humidity.

This is a game changer for venting my attic. Because it’s connected to its smart phone app, it allows me to better adjust the temperature threshold for turning on to Low or High. In the past, I would manually set my old fan to 80 degrees, now because of the information the App provides, I’ve changed the temperature threshold to 85 degrees, with no noticeable difference in house temperature. The benefit, I run the fan less which means lower energy consumption and longer fan life because it’s not used as often.

Good Product, Long Install

The QuietCool Smart Pro 3.0 Attic Fan has two speeds, which is better than the fan it replaced. The temperatures for triggering when the fan kicks on at low and high speeds can be set via a downloadable app on your phone. If you want a fan you can "set and forget" without dealing with the internet and a phone app, this fan is not for you.

Excellent product easy set up along with app. The long cord was very smart. Poor packaging unfortunately one or the mounting ears broken and rattling in box drilled out and bolted together. I would buy again and recommend to others.
