Very nice
I’ve been car camping for 3 months around the San Juan Mountains in SW Colorado. My tent is luxury living with the xxl cot, 20 degree xxl bag (used as a cushion until it got cold). I had a down bag as well, 30 degree. I went through torrential monsoon rains and never had any problems. Plenty of room for your gear. Mornings were getting cold 10/1. I would put the down bag in the synthetic and was never cold.
Solid and reliable quality.
I have been using the Mountain Ultra 3 and 4 person tents for 2 years and am very happy with them. They are very well made. Never had any leaks, even in heavy rain and wind. The 3 person tent fits myself and my dog with gear in Summer and the 4 person accommodates extra gear on longer trips or cooler weather. I purchased and use the optional tent footprints as well to protect the tent floor and add extra waterproofing on the ground. I upgraded to MSR Groundhog stakes and I use 12 of them to set the tent up. One thing that could be better is how the rainfly is secured on the sides of the tent. It's hard to get the fly away from the inner when you stake it down. It needs longer shock cord loops to allow the stake to be further away from the side of the tent to allow good airflow. Other than that these tents are awesome. Easy for me to set up and take down by myself. The price is good for what you get. Tents with this level of quality and waterproof rating can be very expensive but the Mountain Ultra is priced fairly. I highly recommend the Teton Sports Mountain Ultra tents!
Love this tent
Had this tent for about a year now, and its been great. Breathes well with the rain fly on, and during a recent trip with night temps in the low 70's used just the inner with a tarp suspended above and the airflow was immaculate. I've fit a 28" sleeping pad and a twin air mattress side by side in it. My only negative feedback is minor, don't love the tent stakes (would prefer Y pegs to the J hooks provided), and wish the guy lines were reflective, but neither are a big enough issues for me to dock a star. Would recommend
Durable and Weatherproof tent
This tent is amazing. I have had it since 2016 and have had no issues. It has kept me dry in many different storms. It works out great for backpacking trips too with 2 people because if you split the pieces you're only carrying 3.5 lbs each. It has a nice amount of headspace inside with the extra pole that runs across. It's also very breathable with the all mesh construction without the rain fly.
After 30 continuous days 5 days heavy Rain, up to 50 mph winds. The mountain ultra 4 has performed fantastic. I've got a air conditioner & 40" TV. Just wish Made a 10x10 that's cheaper than the Mesa canvas.
Fantastic tent for 50+ mph winds & heavy Rain
Great tent!
Fits 2 people very comfortably, just the right size! Seems sturdy and likely to last a good long time.
3 person tent.
Great value. Easy to set up for a 12 year old Boy Scout. I'll probably get one for myself.
This is one tough tent!
I am so happy with the Mountain Ultra! My first trip was a 3-week stay on a beach in the Everglades. She handily survived a 40mph rain squall AND an embarassing miscalculation about the effect of an onshore wind on a midnight spring high tide.... Maybe even more importantly, she proved to be 100% no-see-em-proof. Plus it's easy to rig the fly on the half shell by rolling it up on the diagonal, so that your cot is sheltered from the dew (and neighbors) while you have a floor-to-ceiling 180-degree view of the sunrise.
Great bang for the buck!
They call it a four person tent. I prefer to call it a large, luxury one person tent. It's been set up in my yard for several days, one of which included 24 hours of rain. Not a drop seeped in. I have a cot and a small lawn chair inside. And it's still roomy! Four vents, two on the 'roof' and one on each door. Perfect. If I could offer one, seemingly affordable suggestion, I'd add a velcro connection/closing half way down each door as it has only two (one at the top and one at the bottom). Still, I am very, very pleased with the purchase. I am not new to tents. My first was a Eureka 2 person Timberline (loaned it out, never saw it again). Followed this up with an LLBean 4 person version. Still have it but it can't breathe. At all. Next came an MSR Ventana 1.5 person. Still have it, still love it, but it's a lightweight, backpacking model and at 67 years old, I've become a car camper person. The Mountain Ultra ticks all of the boxes (easy to set up, factory sealed-seams, full fly, roomy, and as mentioned earlier, survives a good, all day/night Florida rainstorm). Thank you so much, Teton. (Attached photo is before the rain, before I guyed it out.)
Tough tent
Have had it pitched for 7 days and have had some high wind and rain. This tent handles it just fine so far.
Mountain ultra tent
My son and I stayed in it for 7 nights on an elk hunt in Colorado and couldn’t have ask for a better tent. It is light weight and perfect for a long hike in and very easy to set up.
Another impressive product
When the tent arrived the box had damage to the end. It was taped up. I immediately took it out and opened the tent on the floor of the living room. The fabric is solid. The tent poles were pristine. I could not locate any damage to the tent itself. I didn’t have the space to completely set up the tent. As soon as the weather is more stable; out to the yard it goes. I want to introduce my Sercive Dog to the camping way of life and the fun. Thank you for a solid constructed shelter.
2 Person Ultra
Great customer service! The tent takes 10 to 15 minutes to set up. More than enough room for sleeping bag and all my gear.
Excellent but...
I bought the 4 man and it is the best tent I've ever owned. Excellent air circulation and keeps cool if it is in shade. My only complaint is that the polls have broken several times at the joints. It has torn the fly in two places. One pole is currently about five inches shorter now and the other is about three inches shorter now.
Great tent!
I have been in rain, wind and snow and this tent has not failed me! Its easy to set up, spacious, and after 3 years of camping in it in different settings it has proven to be very reliable.
Great tent
I've gotten rain and snow and wind and this tent has been true and faithful! Highly recommend for the price you cant beat it! Best advice is practice setting up the tent once or twice before going camping, its an easy set up but when its raining outside or windy setting up a tent can be much harder if you have not practiced.
Love this tent
Took it to canoe camping in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota and it was great for me and my gear.
