The half umbrella is a great idea
I needed something to cut down heat on the slider outside of my living room and the ability to be able to sit this flush against a wall is a very nice and unique feature. I had some questions regarding size, color, and fabric type and was able speak, a couple of times, with John, the owner of Blue Star, and he was very helpful. I sent him pics of the space limitations that I was working with and hew was able to provide recommendations. I am happy with this product and highly recommend it.
Half Umbrella Purchase Must Read
Use a Half Moon shaped type base. Then, you MUST put a heavy piece of rock on it...I use a chunk of Flagstone. It's Heavy! You still need to fold down umbrella during high winds, but if you can't get to it quickly, this will keep it from immediately blowing over. Check base screw that holds umbrella in place every week if you live in windy conditions. I'll post this under the base I used as well.
