The globes screw on and are supposed to tighten the tear drop metal piece to the stem however, they don't thread down enough to keep the metal tear drop pieces from rocking and turning. I anticipate having to straighten them periodically as they will move around during weekly dusting. Otherwise it is a nice fixture.
