Too thin

Nice crystal but paper thin. I was lightly buffing the glasses with a polishing rag when they shattered on two separate occasion’s within two months. I should have saved the broken glass and brought back for a refund. The glass shattered into small pieces. I’ve been polishing my Lenox crystal cab glasses for six years with no problems. They’re slightly thicker than these fragile wine glasses. Very disappointed.

Disappointing

The stems are very short. Was hoping to replace my current Riedel wine glasses as some had broken over time. These are not a good alternative. My originals were much more elegant.

Brownie Points

Purchased these as a birthday gift, and they were an excellent present. The birthday boy was very, very pleased. A friend dropped in and immediately recognized the glasses as being Riedel! The two extra glasses were an important bonus in the purchase. They were well packed and arrived without any breakage.

These wine glasses are amazing. Light weight and the quality surprised my expectations. I always had water spots on a wine glass after washing by had, but these dry spot free.

Don't listen to the other review... they are crystal and will obviously break if they are dropped. If you want something more durable, go buy some cheapo glass wine glasses. You'll miss out on the cool "make resonating humming sounds with a wet finger on the rim"! Unfortunately, they are indeed delicate... we have lost four over 9 years, mostly to people who don't know how to handle a delicate wine glass. So, buy at your own risk but know that these are amazing (and relatively expensive) crystal wine glasses.

Riedel - what happened to you?

so much lighter in weight then the exact same Riedel cab / merlot glass from even five years ago. They should honestly be ashamed of the product they are now producing. We broke one so just bought a pair to complete the set but this is it as far as Riedel goes. From now on it will be another brand entirely.

Really makes a difference

I was skeptical to spend this much for wine glasses. However, a friend served wine in them and there really is a perceivable taste difference. These glasses will enhance your wine experience and reveal nuance you didn't notice before. Only negative is they appear and are very fragile. Buy on sale here at Macy's for best price.

These are wonderful glasses and they showcase wine beautifully. They are perfect for swirling and hold a good amount. I’ve heard that you CAN put them in the dishwasher, but I’ve also mostly heard the opposite. (I’m never going to!) I’ve had mine for years and feel they were well worth the price. Also, you can occasionally buy them at a really great price at HomeSense!

Absoutely beautiful engraving

I have two brothers who are craft beer addicts so I decided to purchase one of these sets for each of them as a gift. I couldn't have been more impressed! The quality of craftsmanship with the engraving of the personalization is something you cannot appreciate from the picture. While it does state that it takes an extra week or two to arrive due to the personalization, I found that they arrived relatively quickly despite the fact that I ordered this before Christmas. I have already received pictures from my brothers thoroughly enjoying these beautiful growlers and glasses! I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this set for the craft beer aficionado in your life!

Poor quality glasses

I ordered Riedel glasses to my wedding list and got it as gifts. Unfortunately these glasses are very flimsy. I was expecting higher quality because they are "Riedel" however one of the glasses got a hair crack on the rim after being used once and one glass broke in my hand while I was gently hand washing it and cut me. These glasses are either extremely "delicate" or poorly made. Either way -this is not a realistic investment if you actually plan to drink out of them. Returned to John Lewis after complaint on quality made- no problem getting refund- they were very understanding of the issue. Thank you. John Lewis is not the issue- it is obviously an issue with "Riedel" craftsmanship. I am now cautious to buy any further "Riedel" products.
