This is a nice light fixture but I was surprised by the fact that the wood is completely unfinished. In the picture it looked like it was much darker than it actually was when I received it. It was a very light, almost white bare wood color. I was expecting at least a light stain. So, I ended up staining the wood to match some of our farmhouse style furniture. Now it looks like a cool wood beam accent piece. I also painted the metal part with matte black metal paint because it came with a distressed finish on the metal parts. I prefer a cleaner look, so I repainted the metal.

This light fixture is and absolute must if your decor is farm house themed! The only reason we had to return was because it didn’t come with the screws or they must’ve slipped out of the box, and they are needed because there’s caps that cover them. It’s an exact fit, no other screws can be used.
