I wanted to love this rain barrel. It worked well for the first couple of months, and then the back seam split. The water only fills a third of the way (where the seam is still connected). How can I fix this, as it's too late to send back for a refund? Is there a repair kit?

NOTE: the 85 gallon is NOT flatback. Maybe the other sizes are. This is fine. The terracotta looks cheap from up close, but very traditional from any distance. The urn came with a big dent, which was popped out by the weight of the water. This doesn't have a proper diverter cutoff or an overflow hole--we had to drill one. Instead, it has instructions about getting the diverter hose exactly level, which is slightly ridiculous and unlikely to work well over time. Definitely took some DIY-ing, but it took about 40 minutes total to install, not counting leveling the ground. We paid around 50% on sale--it's not worth full price. You do need a hacksaw to cut your downspout (all water barrels need this). The main thing to know is that you need a drill and overflow hose. Drill a second hole at the same level as the entry hole at the top, and run a hose from that to wherever you want extra water (the same splash block as the downspout, or down in the lawn). PROS: It works. I don't think it will split over time. It comes with a (mediocre) diverter setup. The drain hose and valve seem decent. CONS: Not worth full price. Really needs extra holes drilled. Without extra holes, install is finicky. Came with a big dent in the plastic. INFO: 85 gallon is not flatback, it's round. Requires a hacksaw to install. To really install properly, a drill and some DIY needed.

Style meets function!!

The terracotta urn I ordered turned out to have the subtle shade of a ripe pumpkin and has been relegated to the basement to hold excess rainwater from our other 4 rain barrels. I will not have this glaring orange object at the front corner of my house as originally intended. The color and texture look embarrassingly fake. As for size and function, okay. I would have sent it back but we were on vacation when it arrived, we opened it much later, hubs destroyed the box it came in and we missed the return window. I even considered painting it, it looks that bad. Oh, well!

Poor Design

I don't know how this has so many good reviews. It looks nice, which is the only reason it gets 2 stars. The diverter does not work well - if it rains anything harder than a light drizzle, the water coming down the downspout gushes out of the edges of the connection. The connector and diverter tube are just too small. We had to remove it, as it was causing water to pool next to the foundation. Since we had to cut the gutter to install it, now we'll have to replace the gutter. Disappointing.

Attractive and super easy installation.

Very pretty and a nice size but I needed an open top to catch water off the roof. Without gutters and not wanting to try and cut holes in The top sadly I needed to return it. It’s very pretty though!

This works GREAT and easy to access. No longer have to wait 24 hours for all the juck to evaporate from out tap water before watering plants. Does not look plastic from a short distance.

I’m very excited to have purchase this rain barrel. It looks nice, was fairly easy to install. It has an area on the top where flowers, or some sort of decoration can be added.

back side cracked when full

the unit looked and worked for 2-3years but when full the back cracked and leaked and I cannot seal the leak dissaponted not really wanting to get the same one again no freezing in FL so just not strong enough design

Install was straightforward. Fist heavy rain, water spilled out diverter causing ground erosion. Barrel does not fill well without breather hole. When full, the back flat panel bowed, bending the drain spigot hole as it tipped over. Not the best product!

We love our water collector. Was so glad to find this one. We have an 85 gal exactly like it so they match!

Defective hose

Patiently waiting on rain. When it finally came, I was thoroughly disappointed to find the hose leaked allowed all of my water to drain out. I sure hope they don't expect me to return the whole thing to get a replacement hose.

Diverter issues

Diverter: I live in Florida so the rain can get heavy BUT the water shoots out the top of the diverter. Very little goes into barrel and it is flooding my foundation. Now I have to find a better diverter or replace my entire downspout now and take the whole thing back. Expect to spend more than the cost of this because of these issues.

Too much work

I returned this item to the store. Misleading picture. You need several tools to make this rain barrel functional. Do no buy unless you have jigsaw, goggles and an electric drill!
