[Rewarded Review] Awesome Door Lock!

Schlage has been a household name in our home since I was a young kid. I'm 55 now and this company still makes the best locks for the best price that's second to none! I just installed the electronic lever door lock w/keypad and couldn't be more pleased with it. Great lock from a great company! Thanks guys

We needed a new door handle anyway so we decided to get a combo lock handle. I am glad we chose the Schlage handle. Ease of installation and use is amazing. We had houseguests and it worked so much better that having keys made for all of them. The combo is easy to change too! Thank you for an easy innovative product Schlage.

For many years, Schlage is the only brand of door handles/locks I've purchased. I've even given key entry with the auto-lock as housewarming gifts and recipients have LOVED them. I debated replacing the lock with another brand when we sold our house! I've never had an issue using them. The battery lasts a long time and is simple to replace when needed. Programming is easy.

easy to install. works well with one exception. one of the numbers on the keypad does not want to work all the time. now i just changed the code so that number is not used. i have many of these installed in my building and this was the first one i ever had this problem with. I would recommend.

I was disappointed that unlock previous Schlage locks I've purchased for years, this one did not allow one to leave the door unlocked if desired. The door is always locked, and always requires inputing the code to open it. Also, unlike previous Schlage door handle locks I've purchased for years, this one requires completely removing the door handle lock assembly to replace the battery. It is not a convenient design. I feel these changes were made to save a few bucks.

Love this lock!

Have had this on our front door for 8 years now and it's been excellent. We've only had to change the battery once in all that time.

This is the second time I have purchased these locks. I did not buy as many as I needed the first time. The were easy to install, easy to program the entrance code. The hardest part was removing the OLD locks! Our church now has 5 of these installed and we are quite pleased.

I have purchased 7 of these locks over the last 6 years. I live in Hawaii in an extended family home. There4 are many exterior doors - mot just a front & back door. For example I have exterior doors going into the bathrooms so you don't have to track water and sand through the house. You can only access the office from an outside door. What I like best is the door locks behind you - the kids don't have to remember to lock up when they leave. And access to the house is keyless - no lost keys. Both these features help keep my sanity. But, most importantly, is the locks are holding up in a brutal sunny and salty environment..

Every house should have this. I have a large family that is forgetful when it comes to locking doors. I had a $50 door knob lock but it was unreliable and didn’t get the job done. I decided to spend the extra money on this and it is much more sturdy. Anyone can install this. I needed a screwdriver and it was up in literally 5 minutes. I bought one for the back door and the front door. Make sure you check your door for the standard door knob opening. My front door is vintage and I needed to drill a bigger hole to fit the electric door knob. Also, I’ve read that there’s a few second delay for locking in case you’re going in and out of the house frequently but mine automatically locks as soon as the door is closed. It is backlit if you’re coming home at night as well.

Installation was quite easy, even for a novice home-improvement-wanna-be like me. The instructions were verbally very clear and the IKEA like assembly drawings added to the ease of installation. As for the mechanism, I've been using it for only for two weeks but it seems reliable and easy to operate on my interior door. While it isn't a high security device, it suits my purpose of keeping the children out of the cleaning supplies closet. Changing the four number factory assigned code to one of your choosing was the biggest challenge I faced. It took three tries but it was doable. To sum up my experience...I felt like I accomplished a major do it yourself project (major to me) with a modest amount of effort and absolutely none of the frustration I typically experience when attempting doing this type of home improvement. Plus, I'm happy there is another line of safety (the so called child proof caps being the first line) preventing accidental poisoning of my precious kids.

Just received this, I bought this to replace my door knob after my security system put in a keyless deadbolt with the system. Down side to that is one they don't match, and two if I lock the regular lock, the keyless entry doesn't do much good. Pro's : So this one is the only keyless entry I found that has a handle. Actually matches my other door knobs I just bought. I like that part. It does instantaneously lock which I like with the kids and the wind will blow the door open easily. Also Handles will go either way. Conns: Just know there isn't a regular lock on the inside, and no way of knowing if it's locked. If you push the handle it'll just open. You have to go outside to know if it's locked, and I guess go through another door. Call me crazy but that doesn't give reassurance. Cons: I have 2 other keyless entry locks. They both have easy access to the battery, and have locks inside. Who would make you take off the whole door knob off to replace a battery. I'm a female so 10 door knobs later have figured these out. But an old lady and most normal people do not want to change a battery not alone a whole door knob. And every time you replace a battery, every few months, about 4 times a year, sounds crazy. And wear on parts, screwing and unscrewing. Still debating about whether to keep it. I procrastinate on changing the other batteries , couldn't imagine me taking a door knob off every time the battery goes out. That's crazy! Would not buy again for that reason. The handle is the only reason I might keep it and it locks right away, so just in case the other keyless entry runs out of battery or something happens.

Great locks! I've purchased many locks over my career of commercial building maintenance, most electronic locks are a big miss. These locks are great. Easy to install and easy to program, very durable and nice looking. I'm a big fan of Schlage locks over Kwickset. Schlage locks just seem more durable. I've installed eight of these in my current building and two on my home. Batteries last a long time, we're talking years with heavy use. The only negative I can say is that every so often, the push buttons are non responsive. This may be a safety feature to make sure someone isn't trying to guess the code. You just have to wait a few seconds if you pressed in the wrong code too many times then the correct code will work. Nice that it has a standard key in case you forgot the code or the electronic parts stop working although neither has happened to us.
