Still decent

Great look. However with it being a straight handle, it sags a little bit and it is obvious if you install it perfectly horizontal it will rest in a position slightly less than horizontal. You have to install slightly above horizontal for it to rest at horizontal. If you have OCD this will drive you nuts. The color is great and durable after 10 months of use on the handles. However, the color gets scraped off the strikes where the latch catches it.

Hide the screws

The product itself matches the other levers I installed in my renovation. When you open the box you notice the screws are going to show and the matte black finish has come off so black handles with grey screws. It does detract from the overall of the handles.

Simple to install Great look

It was time to replace our interior door knobs. I was looking for something that would really upgrade the look of my home. THIS was it. Not only were these knobs easy to install, it gave my newly remodeled bathroom that contemporary look I was going for! Highly recommend. I need to paint my door again now

Good Fit Bath Remodel

Purchased this lockset for a master bath remodel. I usually go to Schlage for consistent quality and smoother feel than some of the lower end brands, while still being affordable. This lockset fits that description. Finish looks good and handle functions smoothly. Main complaint however is that the inside handle (side with the button to lock) turns about 30 degrees before engaging the striker (first picture), and to fully retract the striker it must be turned completely to 90 (second picture). The outer handle begins retracting the striker almost immediately, and only requires turning to about 70 degrees to fully retract the striker (third picture). Not a huge deal, but a little cumbersome especially since this is on an outswinging door, so your hand is up against the door jamb when using the inside handle (fourth picture). If it wasn't for this flaw (seems to be part of the design, not a defect) it would get 5 stars.

Easy to Install

We really like the sleek and modern look to these lock sets. We were able to remove the 2 old locks and install the new ones in about 15 minutes. The process was super easy and instructions are easy to follow. The only issue we had during install was that the opening in the side of door was not big enough to fit the new strike, so we had to use a chisel to make the opening bigger. The main issue we have with this product is that the finish on the door strike and strike plate is not very durable and wears off easily. We have had these installed for 5 days in a guest bedroom and guest bathroom that were only used for 3 days when we had guests over the weekend. The finish is already wearing off on both the strike and strike plate. Very disappointing that these aren’t made to withstand the minor running that happens when you open and close the door. The only way to minimize this is to turn the handles while closing the doors so the trike doesn’t run on the plate which is not a reasonable or sustainable solution.

Excellent replacement for the 90’s gold

We’ve been replacing all the 90’s era, gold colored hardware throughout the house. The Schlage replacements are direct fit. No modification to the doors have been needed. The look, fit, and function are great.

Great Product

We purchased 18 to update our existing door hardware in our newly purchased home. Easy to install and great quality. Looks like a new home! We have used Schlage products in the past, and have been happy, so this was an easy decision on what brand to go for when updating our new home.

Oil-rubbed bronze was almost black

The reason for the 1-start review is only the finish. The door handle itself was top-quality. But I ordered the oil-rubbed bronze finish and it was almost the same as the matte black finish. And it didn't have any of the "rubbed" colorization in it.

I’ve had 5 lock functions break in 2 months

I don’t understand how this handle has any of these positive reviews. I bought 2 of these to replace two of the previous version of this handle on two high traffic doors. Both of the locks broke within a couple weeks. Bought an another one from another store, it broke, another and then another. Most common scenario is you push the lock button in, think the handle is locked, but trying the handle from the outside makes the lock pop and the door opens. It’s bizarre.

Looks elegant and functional!

Turned an old door into a statement; you can’t go wrong with this lever. When upgrading, this is the style to consider. Beautiful, simple and easy to operate.

Flawed

These door handles are nice looking and feel sturdy in hand. However, there is a uniform manufacturing defect on the plate that sits against the door. The metal is rippled and jagged along one edge and there is a dent on the opposite edge. I ordered 14 knobs and this defect was nearly uniform on each one.

Handle came without the needed hardware to install and when I went online to address the issue, I was given 2 choices, return the lock for a refund or contact Schlage for the 6 needed screws. The handle was also marred where someone scratched it up during installation, (before they returned it to Home Essentials Direct). Lucky for me, I had the needed screws already from a previous lock set, so the oversight did not set me back. As far as the appearance, the handle went in a rental, so I don't have to see the cosmetic issue everyday.

These are great. So much easier to use than a knob. Installed these on all the outside doors along with a keypad deadbolt in the quest to rid ourselves of house keys. But one of the doors doesn't line up perfectly with the deadbolt, and the handle would keep coming off if pulled too strongly. I installed a different one until I can fix that one (pretty sure it can be fixed; the spring holding the handle just needs some tweaking), or even better, fix the door lock.

We wanted to spruce up the handle of our downstairs bathroom, and this did not disappoint. It was very easy to install and looks very nice. It adds a very modern feel. I do appreciate that the handle came with two sets of face plates. One for square drilled installs and one for circular. We have circular holes in our doors so without that added touch they included, this would not have worked. Note that the strike plate is only square, so if you have those adjustable circular ones like we do, you won't be able to use that.

These levers are very classy. Love the finish and feel of them compared to most polished door knobs. Only complaint is that the privacy lever in particular, on the locking side, takes a quarter turn before it engages the mechanism. Not sure how else to explain, but it just feels kind of weird to me. My guess is that it has something to do with the locking piece of the lever, but it is still kind of annoying. And for those out there like me that hate when door knobs have play... This lever is pretty darn good.
