This is the second one of these lights that I've installed, and though I like both the appearance and the light that it produces, they were both unusually difficult to install, partly because of the need to have a junction box large enough to accommodate the ballast on top of the light, and partly because of the need to have every little detail perfect, despite an inadequate set of instructions. For both installations, because my home was set up for ceiling fans, I was forced to drill and chisel out part of the crossbeam above the ceiling drywall in order to replace the junction box, enjoying a shower of wood chips and fiberglass insulation all the while. Then, tiny details, such as for this lamp, having to orient the mounting plate so that the grounding wire attachment is on the top, despite it being virtually flush to the plate, would prevent the lamp from being attached to the mounting plate. I bought both lamps as open-box items, after some other buyer had returned them, and learned the hard way why there were so many returns for these lamps.

Low profile is perfect - lots of light in our condo.

Worked well. I needed a black frame flush mount LED. There are less expensive options port there in white. But I need black

Installation

Poor design for installation. The two pieces must snap together but there is not enough clearance for the set screws to allow the piece to snap together. You can do it if you force it on the work bench, but not 11 ft on a sloped ceiling, standing on a ladder! Too bad, because I liked the design

I was really hoping these WAC LED flush mount lights...

I was really hoping these WAC LED flush mount lights could be installed in my closets. Unfortunately, the housing on the back of them is too big for the 3-inch junction box for it to be mounted flush against the wall. Also, the back of the fixture has a silver-braided wire with a ball on the end that isn't shown in the instruction's diagram. I don't know what it's for and WAC's customer service refused to tell me. It doesn't matter since these fixtures won't work in my condo.

Clean, bright light and fixture.

I have used these fixtures in several locations, hallways, bathrooms, closets. The light is bright enough to be task lighting and the fixture is clean and nice enough to be in a living space. Simple and sturdy installation.
