A real centerpiece!

Original dome had a small irregularity in glass which I chalked up to "handmade". Gradually this area cracked. Uncommon Goods was PROMPT and UNDERSTANDING when providing a replacement. Love love love this piece and it is one of the first things people comment on - even though the rest of my kitchen is an entirely new re-do! (Maybe it is what is underneath ?)

I would buy this cloche along with the serving board.

This is definitely a presentation piece- due to the rippling nature of the thick glass, it is not perfectly level, nor is it airtight and will not keep baked items fresh for any length of time. But the very qualities that make the bottom of cloche slightly uneven attribute to it's overall organic beauty. Paired with the large iron handle, it's a stunner.

The glass cover is very substantial and beautiful, the wood base is lightweight and also a remarkable piece. Together this is a display to proud of.

I love this, but

The cake stand and cloche are heavy, solidly made and beautiful. I'm slightly disappointed that because the wooden base is uneven (so is the bottom of the cloche) anything left on there for more than a few hours would start to dry out and go stale. But the beauty of these pieces and their amazing craftsman ship outweigh any disappointment I might have - I'm looking forward to using them for years to come.

Heavy glass cloche with thin edges.

I bought this cloche for my wife for Christmas. She bumped the edge on the table and it cracked easy. Very thin and fragile. I Bought her another and got it quickly!
