The soft close works great but it is so hard to open that when you get it open you are pulling so hard that it slams into the other end we probably will not use it big disappointment

Soft-Close broke within months

I bought 2 dual-soft-close door frames. The door frame itself is OK quality, i learned later Johnson Hardware is way better. The dual soft-close door comes with 2 soft-close modules, so 2 doors and i had 4 modules. All 4 modules broke and failed to soft close within 4 months. Don't waste your time and money on this garbage, i now have to open the sheetrock back up to replace the failed parts. I already replaced one with a Johnson track and rollers, i will do the same to the other.

Soft close mechanism broke immediately

I just finished installing this soft close pocket kit and everything was working great. I was ready to start drywall and all of a sudden the soft close is no longer working. I took the panel off the track and can't figure out what is wrong with it. After an hour of troubleshooting best I can figure out is that the catch to the piston is not catching correctly. I'm at a total loss. For $148 I would expect more. Hopefully customer service can replace the part. Also the instructions are horrendous.

The aluminum track was preset and it was crooked. We noticed it after we installed it and installed drywall on the outside and trimmed it out. I also didn’t really care for the metal studs. Other than that it was a pretty easy install.

not working correctly

On the first pocket door was installed correctly, the soft close mechanism stopped working in a weeks' time, it needs to be replaced. Installed the second pocket door , it worked about a month. I need to have the soft open/close replaced as well.

Soft close stop working in 2 nd time of use

I bought 7 of them to install in my store. After testing on the 2nd day, 3 of 7 soft close mechanism were failure. Order the new items to replace them, again and again. They keep failure. It's such a waste of time and money due to I have to remove the door trim to reinstall it. Not recommend.

Yes, this is a well-designed pocket frame. The only problem I had was I thought the instructions were a little bit ambiguous.. Shipping was good it came intact. Good quality frame. The best feature for me is the soft close.

The frame was fine and I really like the easy close feature. However the instructions were very difficult to follow. I suggest they be upgraded with more explanations and better pictures.

I ended up doing a 32in pocket door and I found the pocket door was labeled well to make the appropriate correlating cuts. The hardware seems smooth thus far......

stops working

The soft close is a wonderful feature- However, it stopped working after 3 months on 1 door, another came not working, and luckily the 3rd, still works. 1 out of 3 isn't good.

Terrible installation instructions. Very confusing. The CS representative had me send an email and never got a response. Called again and it apparently went to spam. It's all sheetrocked in now so they better be able to help me with the exposed part. So frustrating.

Everything came with the kit . Would like the kit to include the door handle, but besides that, the kit worked great and it was easy to install

We installed 2 of these and though the door and the sliding mechanism is fine for the price, we were disappointed in the overall product due to the soft close feature failing. No matter what we did the soft close would disengage.

Not a fan of the soft-close mechanism. It fails too often

I’m hoping it’s just a one time thing

The mechanism in the install went well. But the soft closure portion breaks after just a couple pulls. I’m going to buy a new one in order to get the soft pull mechanism from it and try to install it in the existing door. I’ve already installed in the wall. I’m hoping it’s just a one time thing and that original mechanism what is an anomaly.

Good for the money. Not 5 stars as it seems...

Good for the money. Not 5 stars as it seems too much money for what you get. It went in easy and seems to work ok.

Couldnt get the screws

Overall, I like this pocket door kit. One interesting thing is that the instructions call for 1" self tapping screws to fasten drywall to the metal studs in the kit, however Home Depot doesnt stock them. The shortest I could get was 1-1/8". These would risk scraping the door when it slides in the pocket.
