This pendant is absolutely beautiful, especially when lit. Our ceilings in our new house are a little low, being a 1950's house. We had to cut the cord very short. It was a very easy process to get it to the correct length. The shade came completely put together. You did not have to attach the glass. The bronze looks almost black. Actually, that was the color I thought it was. It is of a very decent weight and nothing flimsy about it.
