I love these little tools, and my kindergarten students do too. They are a wonderful way to teach spacing to young students. This is my second set. My first set lasted nearly 20 years, so they are durable.

Fun and cute idea

Don't use this when you're teaching kids to just write their letters as it becomes confusing to them. BUT if you use it just for words and sentences, it's really cool! The kids love using it and it's a really cute idea.

They are so cute! I can't wait to use them with my first graders. Leaving spaces between words is always a skill we work on. These are much cuter than popcicle sticks! :)

Cute idea, but not great quality

Super cute idea, but the quality is lacking! Many are chipped and/or the paint is flawed. Wish they were better quality!

Back to school must.

The spaceman student set is one of my first purchases for each new school year. Students use this from day one to remind them to put a space between words. Students transition from using this tool to remembering to put the spaces helping make their written communication easily read. The class was excited to use their spaceman.

Great Product!

I love the Spacemen! My kindergarten class has been using them for a few years and they are so helpful. The children love the ideas of the "Spacemen." I do a big unit on planets and the solar system. That is when I introduce the spacemen. They are a great addition to our writing for the year. They are just the right size for a 5 year old to manipulate. The space on the back for them to write their name has made clean up and keeping organized much easier! Last year I purchased the over sized Spaceman to use on my magnetic white board. Great visual and easy to use! Definitely something I plan on purchasing every year for my class!

What happened?

I have ordered the Spaceman Deluxe Student Set for the past 6+ years to help my first graders with spacing. I have love them and the students have loved them. They would rather use the spaceman instead of their fingers. The wooden figure has always been smooth and nicely painted. Last year the set arrived and the set was not the same as previous years. The painting was horrible. There were bubbles and chipped areas. The faces and other areas were not painted correctly. The edges were rough as well as other areas of the spaceman. There was no way I could give this to a 6 years old child. I did complain and receive another set which was a little better. I am afraid to order this product again because there is such a difference in the finished product as compared to earlier years.
