Loving the new camp chef grill with sidekick.. I've had a 4burner gas grill for 7years and was finding myself bored with what I could grill, this new pellet grill gives me the flexibility to slow cook or fast cook, and I don't give up the be edits of gas grills like steering with the side kick.. it was worth every penny and highly recommend

Sidekick, perfect addition to my Woodwind Grill.

This came with my Woodwind grill. I cannot be happier with the stove itself or the quality of the griddle. I have cooked many breakfasts on the griddle to the delight of all those that ate. The single burner has been ideal for frying and general cooking when I don't want to heat up the kitchen or simple enjoy outdoor cooking.

Will disintegrate

I have had my smoker and sear box for a couple years now and the bottom of the sear box has basically disintegrated. I use the sear box 4-5 times per week. I religiously use my grill cover so as to not get anything wet but the box just doesn’t last. I expected higher quality for the money you spend on a grill set-up. Customer service will gladly point you to purchase another interior for the box when you contact them. Be better Camp Chef!

Makes an already terrific pellet grill much more!

Purchased four years ago . Use it weekly . Pretty much replaced my standard propane grill with it. I typically cook for two to four people . Also the griddle feature is terrific .

Just as ordered perfect condition

Leveling issues, but a great sear station

I found the assembly instructions to be non-helpful in leveling the Sidekick. Customer service no help at all.

Rustout

Two years old and burner needs replacing, grill is rusty and flaking badly, will need replacing divert soon. Don’t know why this is happening so soon, unit has always been covered when not in use. Not happy

Great addition

First use was to sear venison steaks. This add-on is a game changer for my Woodwind Pro. Got it up to 550° before putting the steaks on, great grill marks, seared in juices.

Seariously searing

Sear-eously high quality. Heavy gauge cast iron griddle with grease drain/catch. Very high btu, heats up fast and burner O2 mix is ready to adjust for optimal burn.

A good addition to our smoker

Turns the woodwind pro smoker into a full usable outdoor kitchen as well as allows me to utilize my pieces from my camping stove interchangeably.

Good quality and fits very on the sidekick. Already seasoned and should last the lifetime of the grill so long as you take care of it. Don't recommend keeping it outside.

Good addition to a great pellet grill

Good - Easy install. Just the right size for a small family. Not so good - You have to really watch your temp because it’ll flare up and send the temp soaring. This unit could really use some sort of drip tray to catch any juices or grease while cooking. I clean the grill/sear box and still have a puddle on the patio.

[Rewarded Review] Lasted less then three years

Was an awesome cooker. In less than 3 years it has rusted away. Replacement parts are not worth the repairs. For a grill that cost 300. USD.

Dissatisfied

After just a couple years the heat defector rusted through. The following is the response from the warranty team “Unfortunately, our warranties do not cover rust. Also this unit is warrantied for one year.” Very disappointed for such a spendy product.

Don’t recommend

There is no grease tray under the heat deflector, the grease will drain into the burner area and possibly onto your patio, I don’t recommend this I would get the flat top, the pan under the burner will be completely full of grease and oil from hamburgers. It does not dissipate by heat like Camp Chef claims. It’s a poor design, and they know it.

Terrible design - Don't Buy

This has no grease tray, the grease from burgers, does not evaporate, it drains through the diffuser plate, onto the burner & metal tray below, also all over my concrete patio, I don't recommend this at all, get the sear burner, had one & it works, now I have to by the griddle just for burgers, i purchased 2 weeks ago from bbq guys for my birthday on 9/5, I've emailed camp chef, guess they don't care.

An outstanding option...very well designed and well built. I have grill and griddle - love them both.
