If your rail piping that you want to mount this too does not disassemble you will not be able to use it. The product does not allow you open mount side to attach to the rail. My existing shower rail is a single unit welded at the pipe or rail ends to the wall mounts. Your picture is not clear that there is no way to open the hole. The engineer who designed it needs to install a few or try to. Also way over designed. Went with a 10 dollar suction cup version instead.

This hand shower holder was the only one that matched the one that broke. I required a plumber for another job and asked him to do the replacement. Pleased with the product.

It’s exactly what we had before

So far it works and good quality. Made in Germany for sure.

Disappointing...

Disappointing. The original part broke some years ago and that replacement that was sent also broke. Out of frustration the original part was jury rigged until this replacement part, which was not inexpensive. The diameter was too large for the slide bar and again, had to jury rig with duct tape for the part to hold vertical position. Will not consider future Grohe purchases.

We only needed the bracket

We only needed the bracket but had to buy the an entire piece. So if you sold the bracket separately I'd be much happier.

It didn’t fit, so I returned it :-/

Shower head glide element replacement

This replacement feels strong and solid. The original had a broken internal plastic part. It's probably a good idea to not over-tighten the rod clamp. To replace, pry off the cap on one end of the rod, remove the screw from the wall, break any sealant gluing it in place (a sharp hit with your hand may do it), then slide the wall fixture off the rod. Now you can slide off the old glide element and replace it with the new one. Put new sealant on the old sealant, place the wall fixture back on the rod, settle the wall fixture securely in place, replace the screw tightly, and snap the cover back on.

Spare part still available after 16years!

Grohe products are tough but after 16years I had to purchase this spare part and it fits lovely.

Figure out your dimensions before ordering.

The dimensions are not listed on the website so the buyer takes a gamble on whether it will fit your existing Grohe bar (3/4”, 7/8”, 1”, 1.25”). In my case the photo on the website looks the same as my old Grohe holder that broke. But it did NOT fit and had to returned which was a hassle. Also it is made of plastic so who knows how long it will last. It’s a lot of money for a plastic part.

Welcome replacement part

This replacement part for older Grohe shower equipment is a welcome find (the Grohe family sold the company to another conglomerate owner years back, and the new company support is useless for older parts). It is everything it is supposed to be.
