Third one finally came unbroken. Installed, and the walls didn't match. Pass poor quality. I do not recommend.

shower curtain

we are very happy with with our new shower. but since we didn't install a shower door, we found that the shower curtain was pushed over the edge by the seat. shouldn't there be a gap between the seat and the edge to allow for the shower curtain to fit inside?

The Sterling Accord Shower Base is gorgeous and seems to be well made. Most importantly it was not damaged. I can not say that for the surround walls. Three have can in and three have been damaged. Just ordered my 4th one, after this it all goes back.

Serious quality issues

Easy to install, but serious quality issues. For a previous project I had to purchase 8 or 9 to find 4 complete sets that weren't damaged. Quality control at the factory is non-existent when you get sets that have imperfections in the mould. Just purchased 4 more for another remodel project. EVERY set had issues. Cracked/scratched walls, black pieces in mould, top layer missing from mould in places and every base had divots and the waffle pattern visible inside the floor. HD was great w/ return.

I had to order three before I got one that was not cracked and I am waiting for my fourth wall unit for this base. Been an absolute nightmare. Customers bathroom as been without a shower since November 1st.

What a Mistake

This is equivalent to cheap chinese crap. However it is made in America. In Washington state likely by Mexican nationals. If you dont mind a cheap plastic shower. That IS going to crack this might be just what you are after. I will never buy Sterling products of any kind. And if Home Depot keeps giving me the Run Around on putting the refund money back into my account. I will never shop there again either. Very much not happy with Home Depot and Sterling!

The one thing that I forgot to measure is the one thing that prevented us from installing this in the bathroom. The height. My basement has low ceilings and this was about 12" too high. It is a beautiful base with surround shower walls. Very nice. It looks great. I got it because of the width of the base, it is big.

The shower base and surround went together easily. You can tell that care went into the fit and finish of the product. The base and surround fiberglass is thick enough that there is little concern about “flex” when weight is put on it. It is a solid product. Fastening fins lay nice and flat.

The shower unit arrived broken twice(!), requiring us to return twice and order three times which significantly delayed our remodel project, costing us our season rental income in AZ. Meanwhile the prices went up (Home Depot Customer Service mitigated this somewhat by giving us a discount and waiving the fee for on-site delivery). Very unhappy with the quality control from the manufacturer. The first shipment was broken inside the boxes but the boxes were intact so couldn't see it until ready to install. The second shipment had forklift holes punched through one box and the other had a broken corner inside the styrofoam. The third shipment (finally) arrived intact, which is now installed and looks great. We added the coordinating sliding shower door (Internet #205143225). Strongly recommend completely opening the boxes and checking every inch when unit arrives (don't wait to open the boxes until you are ready to install it) as Home Depot reps told us there have been problems with these. This cost us lost rental income and extra contractor fees: Not happy with manufacturer.

We bought this with the matching 3-wall kit, since the 4-piece kit was out of stock at the time, and had it installed professionally due to the need for a real plumber. However, the stall itself was very easy to install, even after I later took the sides off to touch up some shimming needed due to our walls being about 3/4 inch too far apart. It arrived as shipped, in perfect condition, although we have learned to check before leaving the store upon pickup. It is roomy; and the seat is very sturdy (we used it as a stepstool to install drywall above the shower walls); and yet it only takes about 1 second to remove. We are using it with a shower curtain, which is a little tricky with only a 2" high lip from the water area - but it works for us. If you want to use shower doors, you need to place double studs where the door frame will abut, so plan ahead.

It's a great, great system. We already had it in a bathroom and were replacing one that was damaged due to a major leak from a failed PEX clamp (had to be cut into it to dry out a bathroom). It has been discontinued per Kohler/Sterling....but HD still had some, it came timely and didn't appear to have any damage on the box but their internal packing of the product stinks.....the box wasn't even damaged yet a corner that is visible was broken because the product slides around in the box (not cool Kohler) we had been warned about it (in on line reviews) and tried to inspect it but if you remove the entire thing out of the box it would have been very difficult to get it home.....ugh! Really messed up Christmas plans and a house full of company to be down a shower.....plus having a contractor onsite to install and not being able too.......not cool!

The unit is great, I’ve used this one before. This particular unit came with a hairline crack in one corner. Due to job time restraints we needed to install it as is. Will need to have the unit repaired in place by a acrylic repairman. That’s why I gave it an average score.

This shower pan is made well and seems to fit the back wall and the end walls fine. What is not mentioned in the product description is the fact that the lower portion of the pan where the end walls attach slopes in and makes it very hard to find a glass shower door that will fit and mount correctly. I had to take my first choice back and exchange it for one that will accept the angled lower portion of the wall where the door mounts. The on I was forced to buy was not my first choice. There is absolutely no reason why the shower pan is made this way. I cannot give this product more than a 2 star rating because of this design. If the mount surface was straight up and down it would receive a 5 star rating.
