hose reel that leaks and can not be stopped.

This hose reel is junk no matter what I have done it leaks where hose hooks to reel. I have tried 2 new hoses and several new gaskets but nothing stops the leak.

If you have a small backyard, I’d definitely recommend it. Comes with all screws and fittings, you just need a drill to place on your wall. Although majority of it is plastic, it’s pretty sturdy.

Just installed this a day ago but so far it seems to be built well. It was easy to put up. The handle and reel system seem to work well and it winds up smoothly. Overall I would recommend this product if your in the market for a hose reel of this type.

Love everything about this wall mounted outdoor garden hose fits basically anywhere, great quality and nice color goes perfect with the outdoor color of my home.

Durable

Just what I needed. The reel had lastest a long time, and I believe this one will also. Durable and lined up with the screw holes from the last one. 😊

Great value

Great price for a fully assembled hose reel. Easy install and easily handled my 100' hose. Reel action is smooth and the accessory tray is large enough to store nozzles and sprinkler heads.

Like very much. Similar to Ames brand

Rolls the hose up easily. I miss having the center hose guide so the hose rubs against my clothes as I can stand to side and have to be in front of it to crank.

Need new adapter hose

hose connector at faucet defective. replaced o-ring to reduce leak. appears to be bad design. rest of equipment is okay.

Leaks!

Have tried everything to stop it from leaking where water supply enters the unit. Now, I have a separate connector unit stuck, it won't release, just spins, and it still leaks! Should have read the reviews. Will get a new one next year, and it won't be this one!

Expecting a long service life

It's a good product. The value is in the price. Far more reasonable than anything else I found. This item replaces a Suncast hose reel that has been in use for at least 25 years so you can base your purchasing decision on that.

They always leak!

The reel is good and I like the tray but this one like all others leak. Even used thread tape and joint sealer. No one has yet to solve the leak issue. You kind of have to use their hose hookup or it won't reel in the hose.

Quality is evident.

Replaced another brand that only lasted 2 years due to a obvious design flaw. This brand seems much more durable, different type of plastic that will flex yet seems very strong. Expect it to last longer. Time will tell. I light the more neutral color as well.

Pricey but does the job.

Durable. Bought one of these four years ago. Put it on the south side of the house. So lots of exposure. Still holding up great. Decided to put one on the other side of the house.

Glad that the design has not changed

I purchased this item to replace a several year old version of the same model which had broken. I was pleased that the hole pattern in the new one is the same as the old one so I could use the same masonry anchors. I was also pleased that the reel has an improved bearing with less friction. This product is great value and made well. Ill take the blame for breaking my old hose reel by leaving the hose full of water over the winter causing it to expand and crush the inner part of the reel.

Leaky hose, poor quality, poor shipping

Leaks. The Hose Reel was placed in a large box without any protection - no paper, plastic, air bubbles, etc. The box was delivered to my house trashed on all sides with the tape falling off. When I hooked the unit up, the short hose provided leaked. Even with plumbers tape, it leaked.

Good quality hose reel

The hose reel is all plastic, however it seems very sturdy, and when mounted securely to the wall it winds up the hose very easily and effectively. The sliding hose guide is a nice feature and really helps the hose be wound across the entire reel. I really think the description that it can hold 175" of hose is a stretch. I only have a 75' hose on mine and I don't think there room for more than 25' more at the most.

Suncast has always been reliable...

My previous Suncast reel lasted 15 good years, and another 5 years with some major repairs. My pet peeve: I HATE hose/water leaks, especially around the house foundation. So, time for a new hose reel. This replacement Suncast reel does not appear to be as durable as the last one, but time will tell.

Easy operation and installation

Rolls up hose very quickly and has a large storage capacity of hose. Only issue is it wants to unroll the discharge end, if there is a sprayer or nozzle attached, until the attachment reaches the ground. Newly acquired so useful longevity unknown but expect it will last.

"Reel" happy

Bought a cheaper reel first which was poorly designed so that the leader hose kinked. This reel cost a bit more but was easy to assemble and attach to the house. It handles 2 garden hoses well. A small piece of the plastic crank broke when I pushed it into place but it has not affected its function (yet). So far I am very happy with this purchase.

Good unit but...

OK so the unit looks to be decent quality although the support/mounting could be beefier. Now here is the "but" - the instructions are so confusing to read I just looked at a few pictures and put it together based on what looked logical. Assembled and it it is functional.
