The bracket is very large, but is very supportive. You will not worry about your counter or ledge being properly supported. However, it is very visible and in your face. We would prefer the inside wall underneath metal support brackets for this ledge, but could not utilize. This was a functional compromise.

After opening, I am really happy with these. They are super sturdy and will meet my projects needs well.

FYI: There is no doubt that these brackets are strong, however, 3 of the 4 that I ordered are not square and presented problems for me when mounting under a new kitchen countertop.

Very good product and does exactly what you need - provides excellent support for heavy shelves like granite. Not 5 stars because the holes next to the support are too close to the support making it very difficult to use a drill to drive home the screws.

This is truly a very good bracket to hold most any stone shelf or heavy duty shelves. I love it.

I bought a set of these as there were not a lot of choices for what I needed. I thought the price was high for a mass produced item but I usually buy what will work. My biggest disappointment was the paint looked like it was applied by a blind person. They had runs and missed spots on both units. I should be given a $30 refund instead of the credit offered for this review for the time it took me to sand down and repaint.
