amazing movie, with a great disc design, but my idiot self forgot that I can't play 4k's on the Blu-ray player I have. (this is obviously my fault, not the Item's.)

Terrific movie that holds up after all these years. The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park Colorado added a maze to align with the other movie scenes.

[Rewarded Review] Sad, if you're vision bad this movie is for you.

I purchased the 4k and Blu-ray edition of the movie"the shining", the movie is so out of focus, that I gave the movie away, like trying to get stuck toilet paper off my shoe. We'll then I hear they might cancel 4k movies. so I held my nose and reordered the movie again. Good news though, all other 4k Movies are great, for example "Titanic" is stunning also check out "Barbie"WOW.

A classic film that will never be surpassed!

The 4K transfer is fabulous and a vast improvement over the blu ray version, which is also good.

Excellent Title , Great Features.

This is a 5 Star Product , it is a true classic based on Stephen Kings Novel The Shining, directed by the late , great , Stanley Kubrick. It has everything for Horror Fans, Suspense , Action, Twists in the story and a great Ending. The all star cast are excellent, Excellent Special Effects and real Spooky atmosphere in the empty Hotel. Picture Quality is Excellent , Sound Excellent, Remastered in 4k , and most Importantly it is the full 142 minute version which gives the viewer a sneak peak at the resident ghosts. All in All a Excellent Purchase of a Excellent Film.

Must have version - Longer and complete

Kubricks films have been provided 4k transfers and they look incredible. 2001 provides the old film a new lease on life. The Shining was shot on 35mm so the grain is there in all its glory with this new transfer. The film is the US cut and that's the longer and better version of the film. Kubrick made typically long and cerebral films so having this version on 4k is a dream come true. If enjoy the 4k medium this film is a worthy for the collection. There's talk of a Full Metal Jacket, The Shining and 2001 collection, but that will depend on it coming to Australia.

Never looked or sounded better

Best presentation of this film that I have had the pleasure to watch. The cinematography is well served by the 4K restoration and the additional scenes do add interesting details, particularly near the beginning. But very happy with this version, it looks like it was made this year! Now for Doctor Sleep

Doesn't Include International Version

The picture quality for Kubrick's The Shining is fantastic here and easily the best the film has ever looked on home media. Unfortunately this is the extended American version that is half an hour longer, and while an interesting watch, I found its pacing far more sluggish, leaving me exhausted by the time it ended.

a classic but much bettet

This is fantastic on blu ray .. this is the extended version with more and extended scenes not in the 1980 release . This is well worth the money and I cannot wait to buy Doctor Sleep when released

Deceptive and Pointless

I thought "Brilliant" when I heard that the full version of The Shining was being released. So they put it out on Blu-Ray/DVD set (never understand the point of these, surely you want one or the other). If you have a Blu-Ray player, then great, you can play the full version. For us with just a DVD player the DVD in this set is the British "cut" version. WHAT IS THE POINT OF THAT? I already have the "cut" DVD version, I wanted, the advertised, FULL length version. Nowhere in the sales pitch, for this, is it stated that the DVD is the "theatrical cut," so beware.
